    I purchased this binos to gift to a friend that just discovered the joys of birding and so I compared it to mine and as far as the lens quality it was the same however I like that these pair were lighter than my own binos!

    I have 15 sets of binoculars. These are reasonably good entry level binoculars. I ordered them for bird watching while on vacation because I forgot to bring mine which are much more expensive. Amazon delivered them to our hotel room. Focus is smooth and the diopter is easy to adjust to match the focus for each eye. Minimum focus distance is about 25 feet which is a bit longer than I would like for birding. 10 feet would be better for birding but 25 is probably fine for other uses. Overall they are good for the price. I have not tried the phone camera adapter. Nice carry case.

    These will work perfectly for trip to Tanzania. They are lightweight and so easy to focus.
