Review:
The Bic Mechanical Mentals have become an essential part of my everyday writing arsenal. As someone who values reliability and durability in their stationery, these mechanical pencils have exceeded my expectations.

First and foremost, the build quality of these pencils is top-notch. The metal barrel provides a reassuring weight and sturdiness, making them feel more substantial than other plastic alternatives. This durability ensures that they can withstand the rigors of daily use without any issues.

The 0.7mm lead size is perfect for both writing and sketching, offering a balance between precision and durability. The lead advances smoothly with each click, eliminating the need for constant sharpening and ensuring a consistent writing experience.

I also appreciate the eraser functionality at the top of the pencil. While it's not the largest eraser, it gets the job done for quick corrections and edits on the fly. Plus, the convenient refillable eraser design means I can easily replace it when needed, extending the lifespan of the pencil.

One of the standout features of these mechanical pencils is their affordability. Despite their high-quality construction, they are priced competitively, making them accessible to students, professionals, and artists alike.

Overall, I couldn't be happier with the Bic Mechanical Mentals. They combine durability, functionality, and affordability into one sleek package, making them a must-have for anyone in need of reliable writing instruments. Whether you're taking notes in class, sketching out ideas, or drafting documents, these pencils won't let you down. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars These are the only mechanical pencils I buy for my family.

These pencils write so smoothly, and the lead does not break when you write. They are sturdy, easy to grip and I love the different colors. Unless we need non-mechanical pencils for something, I only buy these. The value for the price beats them all, there are so many pencils in this pack. I buy this pack size and it lasts my daughter for 1 and 1/2 school years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable and Affordable Classroom Essential

As a teacher, finding reliable and cost-effective classroom supplies is essential, and the BIC Xtra-Smooth Mechanical Pencils have genuinely impressed me. These pencils have become a staple in my classroom. They provide smooth, consistent lines perfect for note-taking, test-taking, and everyday writing tasks. They erase cleanly and efficiently without leaving smudges or tearing the paper. Despite being used daily by energetic and sometimes less-than-gentle students, these pencils hold up remarkably well.
Additionally, the value for money is unbeatable. With the budget constraints of a classroom, I appreciate that these pencils are affordable without sacrificing quality. The bulk packaging also means I can stock up and ensure that every student has access to a reliable writing tool.
Super cute!

I bought these BIC Xtra-Smooth Mechanical Pencils for my daughter, who has a habit of losing her pencils throughout the school year. I'm pleased to say these have been a great solution! The price was reasonable, and the pack should easily last her the entire school year. The pencils write smoothly and are comfortable to use, which is important for long school days. They're also sturdy enough to withstand daily use without breaking easily. Overall, I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend these pencils to any parent looking for a reliable option for their child's school supplies.

These pencils are easy to use. My high school child likes to bring them to school. They are comfortable to use. They have a decent amount of lead in them. They don’t break unless you push real hard. They are a good price quality item. I recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars I mean, they work

Exactly what I needed. The eraser does erase cleanly and without any smudges or stray marks. The lead is perfect for writing small print math problems on college-ruled paper. Here is my lead breakdown:

0.3 mm - Perfect for writing as small as possible on note cards or note sheets for exams (cram as much information as possible on the permitted note medium). Difficulty: this thin diameter lead breaks with minimal pressure. I go through a lot of lead when writing exam note cards so this diameter is not recommended for regular use. This was a common size for engineering/drafting years ago.

0.5 mm - The lead size in this product. PERFECT for someone with decent hand pressure control or someone who has plenty of extra lead on hand. The pencil writes fine while still being sturdy enough for my creaky hand.

0.7 mm - Sturdy, but writes very mushy. Fine for writing words and doodling and probably acceptable for higher-level math on wide-ruled paper but gets a little "squishy" fitting equations on one line of college-ruled. I find myself frequently rotating the pencil or even intentionally breaking lead to try and find a sharper edge.

0.9 mm - Perhaps fine (and even preferred) for younger students but 0.7 mm is bad enough for higher-level math that I'd never use this lead.

I've included a photo that compares the 0.3 mm, 0.5 mm, and 0.7 mm pencil leads (I do not own a 0.9 mm pencil) on standard college-ruled paper. The 0.5 mm example demonstrates a pencil from this set. The comparison should be enough to determine which thickness is right for you. I also erased and rewrote one of the numbers on this example, using the eraser of this particular product. As you can see, it erases very cleanly. See if you can guess what was erased!

Long story short: Excellent pencils with fine lead and quality erasers for CHEAP!
