... and they certainly have had enough practice, and should know what they're doing by now. It's poke and pray, hit and miss, and nothing is straightforward in any of the documentation. I've figured out what I need to know, but I'm sure I'm missing tons of info that simply isn't clearly offered.

I was disappointed. First, it did not update EQ6 into EQ7, but loaded EQ7 separately. That means anything you had under EQ6 remained there and had to be recreated manually in EQ7. I got this because it was said to have so many more fabric and patterns to choose from, but it really doesn't. I would never have spent this much money on the upgrade for getting what I think is not much. The commands are pretty much the same, so there wasn't much to learn.

I have been using EQ since number 4, I still think its a rip when you have to pay so darn much for the update. Then only to find you really won't use most of the new features after all... but being software you can not return it once you find that out after installing it. The update price should be a lot less than they are charging for it. Glad to have most of the new updates don't get me wrong I love using EQ ....not likely to update again.

EQ7 is a great program, and will help so much in everything quilting. I am a quilting instructor and use this to design new quilts, assist my students in creating layouts or adjusting a design they are working on, and so many other things. My most recent use was to create a quilt from an artist's rendition. Unfortunately, just because an artist visualizes something, doesn't mean it can immediately be made into a quilt. Quilters know what works, and what doesn't. By recreating the design on EQ7, I was able to see what the dimensions would be for each block as I recreated it, plus adjust the design so it was workable for piecing a quilt.

I have owned other quilting programs, but this one is the BEST! It is like anything else we try to learn -- how much you get out of it depends on whether you put the time in to learning it. Note that you must first purchase the actual program. Thereafter, you can purchase upgrades such as this one. Because EQ7 does so much and has so much in it, you may not need to purchase an upgrade for many years.

It shouldn't take five days for the product to leave the facility. 13 days later it finally came. Installation went off without a hitch, although, as an upgrade, I didn't expect to have both versions still available on my desktop......both EQ6 and EQ7. Don't know if I should uninstall the earlier version, or leave well enough alone. But size of two programs will determine that.

I did not look at the book real close to see that the item said upgrade on it. I did not have the EQ6 to use to upgrade to the EQ7 so I had to return it .

I had EQ 6 and hesitated to update. I did not expect the updates to make a big difference, but I do find the changes much more user friendly. I especially like the improved methods of importing photos. I also like the "Quick Quilt Projects" which has quilt patterns already set up to use.

Although this is a great product, it did not meet my expectations as an upgrade. I have been a long time user of Electric Quilt, upgrading as each new version was introduced. I did not find that many changes in this version. There is some new capability in photo editing, but not sure I would use this to edit my photos. Nice software, but not as fabulous as usual.
