5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to Use & Awesome Range

I had the Google Mesh system before and it was giving me issues by constantly dropping the wifi signal. I did a bit of research and found out that it was an Google issue so decided to look for other options. Researched for about a month and the Deco X55 Pro had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. I bought the 3 piece system. Simple to setup, wifi is stable and so far the wifi hasn’t drop. The mesh system works great and I haven’t had any issues around the house. No dead spots. The app is simple to use and provides great information. The app gives you detailed information about each device connected to your network. I am not sure if it is possible or not but I would like to buy another satellite (Deco X55 Pro additional unit) to add to my system to extend the WiFi range. Otherwise, the system works great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product

I’ve done light networking admin and troubleshooting at a previous job and have been around computers for most of my life. My dad had an Ethernet in the house in the 90’s. I built my first PC when I was 11. I’m 43 now. I’m not an expert, but I have more experience than probably most. This was really easy to setup. I downloaded the app and it walked me through setup. Only thing that caused me an issue was I was running a VPN on my phone which initially blocked access until I disabled the VPN. The setup was easy. I installed one node near the cable modem which is in the side attic of the room over the garage. I installed another node downstairs and the last node upstairs. I already have network cable ran in the house so all the nodes are connected by LAN and do wired backhaul. All of the streaming peripherals like Apple TVs are also wired. The only devices using the WiFi are phones and laptops. The system broadcasts one network and auto configures your device for best speed. You don’t have to choose a 5ghz or 2.4ghz network. That is automatic. The house has excellent signal everywhere. I put on YouTube and walked into every room while steaming. It never flickered or stopped. It seamlessly moved from node to node as needed. The app checked the firmware on the nodes and updated the firmware on each one, very simple process.

I will update this if anything changes. Right now, it’s very fast meshed WiFi that works very well. It was super easy to install and update. The app is intuitive and useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great, Extremely easy to set up,

Overall I am very happy with this product. It is a replacement for Eero mesh routers owned by our internet provider that had been free but were going to be charged for going forward.
Ordered this on Thursday, received it on Saturday, and set it up on Sunday morning. I started setup around 7:30 and by 8:00 it was connected and running as advertised.
I reviewed several online videos and downloaded the Deco app beforehand. You do need to set up a TP account in the process which was no big deal for me. Set up is done through the app, not a website. The setup steps in the app are straightforward and clear. Easy to follow.
What did I find? My download speeds remained about equal to the speed I had previously at about 950Mbps. The upload speed did drop off a bit but was at about 30Mbps versus 45-55 before. I used speedtest.net for the test.
I purchased a replacement because we are switching from our current ISP provider to a fiber network our municipality is setting up.
Based on setup, appearance, speed, 3 gigabyte ports on each unit, and customer support I would highly recommend this. Price wise it also was a no-brainer.
Are there any things I did not like? While the app is installed easily from the Play Store and set up is easy to do through the app it feels like there are a few rough edges to it. For example, renaming the Deco units or connected devices should be easy but so far I cannot find it.
On the other hand, tech support seems great. The 2nd unit seemed to be hung up in set-up mode. Since TP-Link provided a 24-hour 888 number. I called it Sunday morning, was barely on hold for a minute, and spoke with a rep who walked me through it with no problem. If I'm honest I probably could have found the process with some digging but phone support was fantastic.
If you are looking for a mesh network I don't think you can go wrong with the Deco series or specifically the Deco X55.
