I'm a high school teacher and use this bag daily. Why I love it: padded straps; plenty of compartments; looks good; strong and durable. There's even a hidden carpartment in the back where I store my tall water bottle.
Flaps over zippers aren't a big deal. Have your kids (or yourself!) practice lifting and zipping a few times -- becomes second nature. White interior: also not a big deal. If it's better for the environment, I'm all for it. Great price. Great bag. Looks good. Works good. Feels good.
