Worked as I expected and after a summer of racing it has held up pretty well on the intake.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really does cut down on heat from the engine on my motorcycle
Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2024
I was skeptical but thought this is inexpensive enough to try. Taped up the bottom of my seat, and the inside of some plastic pieces on the body near my legs. It works really great, I don't feel much heat at all even when stopped at a long light on my Diavel V4.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great tape, add some spray adhesive to be safe
Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2015
Absolutely gorgeous, definitely keeps my intake temps down. As per the heed of other peoples reviews around the internet with premature peeling of the tape, I first sprayed the item I was wrapping with 3M super 77 spray adhesive. In my case I wrapped a turbo inlet I built as it is located across my turbos hot side. Before wrapping the intake, my first few drives with the car showed heat soak after full strong pulls, especially when it is hotter outside.

I installed the tape by measuring the diameter (3" in my case) and added roughly 1/8" just for complete coverage. It took a while, but I flipped every strip over and also sprayed the 3M adhesive to the back side. After a few hrs of operation, one with higher engine temps the tape performed as expected, was cool to the touch shortly after shutting down the vehicle and showed zero signs of sagging or peeling up. A few drives and days later and same results. Even sprayed it off with water to clean the road debris off.

One last thing worth mentioning, any sort of radius is going to be difficult to wrap. For this I cut the wrap in half and used shorter 1.5"-2" strips to get 180 degrees of coverage properly. If you are wrapping an intake or intercooler piping and your filter or coupler is rated for same diameter, I recommend leaving the gold tape back just enough for your filter to clamp on. In my case I am running a K&N 3" cone and it was too snug to fit over the gold wrap. After a few frustrating attempts I eventually ended up scrapping one 3" section as it had gotten too beat up during attempts to install my filter to consider presentable.

See attached picture of my engine for reference.

I put this over a starter cable and seems to work well so far. Was easy to apply not too thick to apply and fibers made it stronger. Good value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny!

    I have a 2008 Accord Coupe 2.4l I bought it with around 168k.
Oh, yes, it's red and the paint job is horrible I'm not painter but this heat wrap works! Period! I don't think the pain adds anything other than color it is an engine or under the hood high temp paint. I track my gas mileage using Car Care app and I'm currently up to almost 19mpg and it's probably 85-90% local driving. Doing app deliveries. Side note I drive with windows down, su roof open and sometimes the air on along with too so. If I shut the windows I might be over 20mph local.
I don't cheat my gas milage if it's not a full full fill up I don't click so it won't do the math until it's an actual fill up.
Before purchase I found a YouTube video where a guy took his 04-08 TL with cold air intake and did a before and after with the tape and he had it hooked up to the computer that showed the air intake into his engine was 30 degrees cooler with the tape.
    Hooe this info helps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reduced my charge air temps
Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2020
During this corona virus madness I was bored and needed something to do so I ordered this and wrapped the intake piping of my focus ST to create a REAL cold air intake and I gotta say it’s worked decently well. My charge temps have dropped by a few degrees which, for any boosted car, is essential. It’s pretty sticky but you can pull it off and replace it if needed, it’s also decently easy to form around bends and curves, it won’t be the prettiest thing but it’ll work.

5.0 out of 5 stars worth the money; quality adhesive and foil thickness
Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2023
as a professional design engineer: this product is pricey for a reason. the adhesive's hold and temperature rating are very good and the foil thickness is enough to protect without being difficult to form. it's easy to work with and isn't fussy, even in places like compound corners.

used in this case to limit heat exposure of intake assembly from the new headers going in.
