I love this author and eagerly awaited this book. In many ways it met or surpassed my expectations. The characters were flawed but likable and realistic. Women of various ages and at different life milestones are featured. The gilded age setting was fun. The religious themes were well done and beautifully integrated. It reminded me in many ways of some of my favorite Lynn Austin novels, Eve's Daughters and A Proper Pursuit. And there in lies a bit of a problem for me. As much as I enjoyed All My Secrets, I couldn't help but feel it was more of an amalgamation of these two novels than a truly unique story. However, this is not uncommon especially in the world of historical Christian fiction, where I've read more interchangeable WWII plotlines than I care to admit. Overall, I really enjoyed All My Secrets and found it inspiring and convicting. It was perhaps the best book I've read in some time and definitely deserves 5 stars. Lynn Austin remains a must buy for me.
