This was the hottest book I’ve read this year! Chris & Marissa were such a good forbidden romance couple. I honestly don’t *love* the cheating trope (he’s married) but this was done so well that I enjoyed every morsel of this!! The moment she called him “daddy” as a joke and he snapped, will live rent free in my mind until the end of time!

Connor Crais and Monique Ryerson do a phenomenal job in this dual/slightly duet narration. I listened to this audiobook twice, TWICE! That’s how good it is! The spice started in the PROLOGUE people!

If you are looking for a steamy age gap romance, then this is the perfect read for you!

This book was everything QB is known for. But I have to say, Marissa is my least favorite of all of QB’s heroines. She was so wishy washy with what she wanted at the beginning and I felt like she was weak minded to let her family doubt her relationship with Chris. How are they supposed to support your relationship when you so easily doubted it? He loves you, right? You love him, right? No more real obstacles, right? He’s your man, right? Those are things she needed to staunchly defend to her family and she didn’t. I was really disappointed in her.

THIS. BOOK. Hands down a Top 10 of 2024 for me.

Our Little Secret was one of my most anticipated releases this year and BOY did Q.B. deliver!! She knows how to write messy, complicated, flawed characters and make you sympathize and love them! They’re my favorite - I love the messy and uncomfortable - give me all the feelings!

I know some readers might see the cheating trope and make assumptions about the story and the characters. Having read every Q.B. Book, save one or two, I’m hoping readers find this review and I can convince them to read it anyway because everyone will be cheering on Marissa and Chris - guranteed!

Ya’ll can’t understand how hot this book is! From the PROLOGUE! HOT AF! Daddy Chris is giving Daddy JP (What Was Meant To Be) a run for his MONEY!

Connor - I’m truly at a loss for more ways I can compliment this man and his narrating! He nails it. Every time. And he was so perfectly cast as Chris! He has this way of perfectly blending the dominant, alpha, growly persona alongside the protective, adoring, obsessed-with-his-woman persona. The alphahole and golden retriever all rolled into one. It’s addictive and why he’s a top 3 male narrator for me and an automatic listen! This audiobook was my first experience with Monique Ryerson and I was NOT disappointed! I’m not sure if she’s had a pseudonym or just branching out into the romance audiobook-verse, but give her more contracts! She was PERFECT for Marissa - and has a great depth for the male and female side characters! She’s one of the voice actors that incorporates all of what I call the “extras” - when a character is crying some narrators still read the text with their regular voice and some narrators actually sound like they’re crying while they’re speaking - Monique was the latter and those little nuances are huge for me! I’ll be keeping my eye out for more of her work!

I have already listened to it twice so clearly, I highly recommend this audiobook!

Holy hotness, this book has definitely become my top favorite of Q.B. Tyler’s. And I will say it now, Chris is also MY TOP FAVORITE MMCs of hers. This book had me fanning myself one second, then screeching & screaming at the ceiling the next. Ascending to heaven, indeed! And this author never misses to deliver with the delicious spice. I ate this whole book UP. Marissa & Chris are one mouthwatering couple.

There’s something so attractive about a man who sees what or who he wants & just wholeheartedly goes for it. Because that is Chris, he saw Marissa & not only fell, that man plunged into it, deeply. Now, his situation is complicated, he is complicated. But that does not take away from him realizing that what he thought was true love did not come close to the real thing. A love that is passionate & all-consuming. A person who matches you, heart & soul. He found a soulmate & never stopped believing in the happiness they deserved, never stopped fighting for it regardless of the situation or consequences.

Marissa, I truly liked her as an FMC. It’s never easy when one is battling with themselves, especially when it comes to doing the “right thing” & fighting for your happily ever after. But I admired her strength & her determination to prove herself & continuously grow. Show how she can be an independent girl boss.

The narrators Monique Ryerson & Connor Crais were PHENOMENAL. Their performance in this audiobook truly made this reading & listening experience TOP TIER. They easily conveyed these characters’ emotions & brought them to life masterfully. And I can honestly say that after this book, I have become A CONNOR FAN. HIS VOICE! I need to listen to his other audiobooks ASAP & go feral over those too ????????.

(This book does have cheating (not between the MMC & FMC), but I still think you should give it a shot if that part made you hesitant!) If you’re a lover of age gap, workplace romances, with a bit of a daddy kink & second chance romances on top, this book is definitely for you. Even more so if you’re a lover of some spicy romances.
