5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Bass. My Go To Bass Every Time. No Question About It !

I've owned plenty of basses and played many more. I've been playing Bass for 40 years. I play in a working band. The Schecter Stiletto Custom-4 is the best bass I've ever owned or played. The pickups are perfect. You can get whatever sound you want with the electronics. The substain is the best I've heard. I have a strong feeling this Bass is going to rise in price because the quality of this bass just happened when whoever designed it, designed it. As time goes on I can see this bass rising in price because the quality is as good as I've heard and the playability is the best I've had. I still own a Fender and an Ibanez . I just take one of them with me for a backup when we play out. I haven't even looked at them out of their cases since I received and played and heard the Stiletto Custom-4. We play Rock, Country, and some R&B tunes. I can get whatever sound I want and this Bass really makes a difference. I could keep writing about how great this bass is. I'll just end with saying " This bass is amazing and if you are considering getting a new bass I highly recommend the Stiletto Custom-4." PS: " Don't wait to long making your decision about buying because if I were this company the price would go way up on this Bass". Today. ! "Just saying" Actually a Bass should be called Base because a Bass is a fish . Buy this Base you won't be disappointed , you'll be one of the lucky ones because this base is going up in price. Besides the price, you need this bass anyway so you can help your entire band sound better !

Great value! I’ve been playing bass for over 40 years and I can honestly say this is a great bass. I own basses that cost over 3x as much and this one can compete with them no problem. Beautiful flawless finish, sleek fast neck comes perfectly set out of the box. Be sure to get a gig bag or case to keep this puppy safe because it is a great investment. Arrived lightning fast from Amazon in a double boxed packaging. Very secure! Sound? Amazing! Full and spoinky, just the way I like all my basses to sound! Before you throw down $1700 for an American made Fender, you should try this one out! please!

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice instrument, poor setup
Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2014
This is a good bass. The fit and finish and overall feel of the instrument was good. The neck profile was especially comfortable. The electronics were dead quiet. The pickup cover was loose on the neck pickup, but that was not an issue. The issue was the setup.

The instrument was built in Indonesia and as stated previously, it is a well built bass. The setup (if there really was one) was supposed to be done at the Schecter California facility. Upon arrival, I looked the bass over very, very well. The action of the neck seemed good, but not great. The bass appeared to be in tune. I played the bass on its own and was pleased for the most part. When I tried to play along with a rhythm machine, I realized the bass was tuned low. When I tuned the bass to standard tuning, the action went from "good" to "very poor." The action was better up to the fifth fret and got much, much worse the higher up the neck I played. Obviously, this bass needed a complete setup. I could do this myself, but the neck seemed so warped, I was concerned that adjusting the truss rod too much might cause damage. I know that adjusting the bridge alone could not compensate for the needed truss rod adjustment. The local luthier charges $50.00 for a set up and there was no guarantee there. Also, I wasn't sure I could get the setup done in time to meet the 30 day return policy.

In the end, I just returned the bass. Any bass I buy from here on out will be one I play before hand. I knew better, but gave it a shot anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid, Comfy Bass

I purchased the Custom 4 specifically to learn bass for a punk band I joined. Being a lead singer, my knowledge of bass guitars was almost nothing. A buddy who played recommended Schecter. I was playing an old, bulky Fendor a fellow band mate loaned me. I purchased the Custom 4 with high hopes. My expectations were not only met, but exceeded. The thing is crisp with a great feel to it. Its light weight allows me to play while running around the stage, acting like an idiot. The only issue I had was I couldn’t get it to play one day. I emailed Musician World and Kyle got back to me almost immediately, suggesting I replace the 9 volt for the pickups. Duh. Noob mistake. Now I know better. Anyways, get this thing. Your life will be better.

The reviewers on here were right. It plays straight and with good action right out of the box. Dam, I didn't even have to tune it other than the A string and barley a twist of the tuner knob..... Can you believe that... This pup looks great, everyone of my fiends have gasped in surprise how nice it looks. No kidding its beautiful. The hardware feels SOLID... ALL of it...The wood grain is very nice on all woods and it plays with low action and smooth as butter. I have not one complaint I can think of. QA is outstanding. Go for it.....

This bass was purchased for a teenager who has high expectations when it comes to his music. The guitar was packaged well and was delivered sooner than expected. The bass is a beautiful instrument with excellent craftsmanship and a sound that is so sweet that words can't describe. Definitely something to consider if you are looking for a nice bass.

Honestly played one of these in a Guitar Center and I just knew. Ended up pulling the trigger on here when I had enough whiskey to actually pull the trigger, do not regret it.
