About this item

She bought the cabin on a whim. But will it transform into her perfect getaway?

Burnt out from her high-flying author career and dreaming of escaping her busy Manhattan life, when Laura discovers her husband cheating on her with another writer, she knows it’s time for a change. After her brother calls her about a country Bed and Breakfast for sale, Laura ditches New York and buys it on the spot… only to realize that the run-down cabin will need more than a little elbow grease to restore it to working condition.

As she’s swept up in the quiet joys of small-town life, an ad in the local paper draws her to the rugged handyman Paul – and though his wicked humor sours first impressions, she soon warms to his rustic charms. But her past isn’t done with her yet.
Faced with the daunting reality of fixing up her cabin – and with her Manhattan agents pressuring her to return to the big city – Laura must find the strength to commit to her new future… and maybe find true love along the way.

Was this cabin the worst impulse buy in her life? Or will she find happiness amid the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains?

Dive into a cozy small-town adventure that will charm your heart with a feel-good story of new beginnings, wholesome romance, and healing from the past. The Smoky Mountain series is a delightful read that’s perfect for anyone who wants to grab their favorite coffee and be whisked away on an enchanting saga.

Laura’s ex is back to cause more trouble. He is suing her for more money and fraud! Laura must make a trip to see her lawyer in NYC to figure out how to defend herself from her ex. She asks and Noah says yes to going with her. Good news, they meet with the lawyer who determines that there is little chance of the lawsuit going further as long Laura can provide the receipts for the upgrades made after her divorce. Laura and Noah spend the remainder of their time in NYC enjoying each other. After returning home, Laura, Noah, and her brother and sister-in-law enjoy the Harvest Festival where Laura finds some more items for the BnB. Just waiting for the business license to be approved. Laura is inspired to start a new novel and writes through the night. Charles, Laura’s ex shows up at the cabin with another lawsuit after hearing from Laura’s lawyer but the lawyer has had enough and shortly calls with the good news that Charles should be no problem ever again. But wait, another cliff hanger ending, Laura receives notice of another lawsuit. This time it is the previous owners of the cabin claiming ownership. Can’t wait to get to the next chapter to see what happens next. I received an ARC and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Laura has finally gotten all the paperwork together for her lawyer ensure her that her ex can’t get anything more from her regarding the sale of her apartment. Now days later Charles shows up at her cabin and insists that he can claim rights to any new publication of a book that she does! Once again she contacts her lawyer and he finds a way that says Charles has no rights! Laura finally thinks all is done. While celebrating the issue of her license for her b&b with Noah a knock on her door shows the same man who delivered her most recent summons. Now it seems the previous owners of the cabin claim tat the property is theirs because they found proof of a deed! Can she ever get a break?

Oh boy, Laura cannot catch a break. Book 3 continues with Laura going back to NY to see her lawyer as Charles, the ex, wants more money from the sale of their condo. She finally gets that taken care of and life goes on with her getting the cabin ready to open her B&B with Noah by her side. Everything going smoothly when bam she is hit with another lawsuit this one from a prior owner of the home claiming that he owns the property. Looking forward to book 4 to see what happens. Will Laura lose the cabin to this person? Hold on tight, book 4 cannot come quick enough. Great book for small town clean romance with some mystery thrown in. Enjoying the series so far. I received an arc and this is my voluntarily review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Charles is a thorn

Laura was still legally fighting Charles, but through her lawyer. Noah went with her to NYC to see her attorney, Mr. Fletcher. He went through all the documents, no loop holes for Charles to claim. Laura and Noah enjoyed sightseeing together including a nice, romantic cozy Italian dinner to end their day

Charles showed up a short time later at her cabin claiming to sue her and get all he believes he's entitled to and thankfully the court threw out all of the claims and said it was 'closed', finished.

Laura is trying to write amongst all of this stress and was starting to relax when the original server of court from Chares. Laura believed it was him, Charles, suing again, but it isn't hm! It seems she has aother battle on her hands.

I received an early copy for free, ARC, and am giving my honest, free and voluntary review.
