About this item

I’m a lucky man and I know it.

Kids from backwoods Georgia don’t land scholarships to Yale, but I did, and striking it rich–like,
billions of dollars rich–with my best friends after graduation should have used up my luck for a lifetime.

But luck struck again when I followed my passion into music. My career exploded, and now I get to travel the world, performing for thousands of raving fans every night.

When you get this lucky, you don’t get to want more, and you definitely don’t get to complain about the little things. My family, my crew, and my label are counting on me and I refuse to let them down. I pretend I’m fine, totally fine, Mr. freaking Fine… even when someone starts targeting me with a strange series of threats.

The only one who sees beneath the pretense is my gorgeous, strictly-professional bodyguard. Ryan keeps me safe and calm. He holds me when I’m terrified.

But even Ryan doesn’t see everything. He doesn’t know I want him. That I crave him. The man who keeps me together has no idea how much I want him to take me apart.

And I’ll never tell. Because there’s no way someone as strong and confident as Ryan could have feelings for someone as chaotic as me.

Nobody’s
that lucky… not even Mr. Fine.

This had all the things I love about this troupe. Protective MC who loves the other MC with everything. Sweet, insecure, mc who just wants to be loved for who he is. The mutual pining leading up to the realization is worth it. I loved reading their journey. The writing was great, the smexy was great, and the brotherhood does make appearances but not knowing their stories won’t take away from reading this book.
Bear facts were amazing and spot on. I have my own Bear and boy is it true.
If I had one complaint, is there was more dialogue, instead of internal monologues. I kinda got a little board with that. But that’s totally a me thing.

For future me:
Dual POV
No cheating/sharing
Relationship before smexy
Needs diversity bipoc folks attend Yale and can be rockers
Don’t know if strict but only shown one role.

I just adore this series, and this book was a wonderful addition.

Zee and Bear were just adorable. I love the bodyguard trope, and this story was not a disappointment. Great flow, wonderful characters and smexy times were had. The last book with Kenji and Landry is what I'm waiting for, so I know it's going to be an epic angsty delight.

Lucy Lennox can do no wrong. So GOOD!

This was absolutely fabulous. I loved the continuation of this series. Zane and Ryan were so good together. You could feel the tension. I also really liked the bear facts at the beginning of each chapter. The bear analogy is so perfect in this story. I love a good bodyguard romance and Lucy really does it well. I was so excited about Jude's cameo from Jumping Jude! It was unexpected but perfect! I enjoyed the guys from the previous books and I can't wait to find out what's going down between Landry and Kenji. I am fully committed to this series and I want more.

This was a very fun read!I loved the character and had a fun time reading about their romance and the mystery of who was targeting Zane. I really enjoyed the characters, but I do with there was a bit more romantic tension between the two characters like there was in the pervious book.

Another amazing book for the brotherhood! Loved Zane and Bear! They were so fun to follow along with and watching them find their way. Can’t wait for Kenji and Landry!

5.0 out of 5 stars This Bear got so grizzly!

Ryan aka "Bear" is responsible for the safety of one of the worlds most loved rock stars Zee Barlo. He is very dedicated to protecting him at all costs, so no one questions him when he sticks to Zee's side constantly, day and night and even into his dreams. What Ryan observes is a man dedicated to giving of his time, money, opportunities and to his own detriment the inability to ever say no. Zee is the kindest man he's ever known and along with his admiration his feelings grow, he wants to wrap him up but Zee keeps giving and giving and growing more and more fragile. That won't do at all, and when a stalker starts leaving marks on him, Ryan goes crazy for his man...only, Zee is his man in his heart alone, he can't risk losing his job so he keeps his feelings to himself.

Zee Barlo the performer is always fine but Zane Hendly the man is burning out, when he feels afraid and stressed he finds comfort in his bodyguard Ryan. This grizzly bear of a man is so in tune to his feelings that he always knows what Zane needs. When the stalker gets closer and unsettles him even more the nightmares begin, subconsciously Z calls out for Ryan in his sleep and his hero is there to calm and protect him.

Ryan desperately wants Zane and Zane craves Ryan, but what about their contracts, their commitments to others, they just can't be together.
As the danger levels rise both men realise that nothing is worth more to them than each other, but how can they make that happen as long as they are rock star and bodyguard?

The tension in the book rises just as Ryan has to leave Zane's side and the stalker is revealed. So many people get involved in trying to keep Zane safe and hidden, the Brotherhood are all there and of course Kenji ends up with all of the answers as you would expect. My goodness it took so much for our guys to get their hea, but all's well and lovely and warm and everyone is together again, sigh.

The comedy comes in the form of bear facts for insomniacs. This podcast would keep me up laughing instead of sleeping, just brilliant.

4.0 out of 5 stars Magic as always

I'm not usually a fan of rockstar romances, and I was a little worried this would be Jude pt. 2, but luckily (and not very surprisingly) Lucy knocked it out of the part with the newest Billionaire Brother. Bear (Ryan) is the most protective MC and you can see how much he cares for Zane from page 1. And Zane is not really a typical rockstar, he's unsure and not really confident in his feelings for Bear. It really just worked especially with the light mystery background (as a reader of mysteries/suspense it wasn't 100 percent believable, but it still added something great to the story). It does take a little bit for them to just communicate about what they want, but once they do it's magic as always.
