About this item
I’m a lucky man and I know it.
Kids from backwoods Georgia don’t land scholarships to Yale, but I did, and striking it rich–like, billions of dollars rich–with my best friends after graduation should have used up my luck for a lifetime.
But luck struck again when I followed my passion into music. My career exploded, and now I get to travel the world, performing for thousands of raving fans every night.
When you get this lucky, you don’t get to want more, and you definitely don’t get to complain about the little things. My family, my crew, and my label are counting on me and I refuse to let them down. I pretend I’m fine, totally fine, Mr. freaking Fine… even when someone starts targeting me with a strange series of threats.
The only one who sees beneath the pretense is my gorgeous, strictly-professional bodyguard. Ryan keeps me safe and calm. He holds me when I’m terrified.
But even Ryan doesn’t see everything. He doesn’t know I want him. That I crave him. The man who keeps me together has no idea how much I want him to take me apart.
And I’ll never tell. Because there’s no way someone as strong and confident as Ryan could have feelings for someone as chaotic as me.
Nobody’s that lucky… not even Mr. Fine.

Bear facts were amazing and spot on. I have my own Bear and boy is it true.
If I had one complaint, is there was more dialogue, instead of internal monologues. I kinda got a little board with that. But that’s totally a me thing.
For future me:
Dual POV
No cheating/sharing
Relationship before smexy
Needs diversity bipoc folks attend Yale and can be rockers
Don’t know if strict but only shown one role.

Zee and Bear were just adorable. I love the bodyguard trope, and this story was not a disappointment. Great flow, wonderful characters and smexy times were had. The last book with Kenji and Landry is what I'm waiting for, so I know it's going to be an epic angsty delight.
Lucy Lennox can do no wrong. So GOOD!

5.0 out of 5 stars This Bear got so grizzly!
Zee Barlo the performer is always fine but Zane Hendly the man is burning out, when he feels afraid and stressed he finds comfort in his bodyguard Ryan. This grizzly bear of a man is so in tune to his feelings that he always knows what Zane needs. When the stalker gets closer and unsettles him even more the nightmares begin, subconsciously Z calls out for Ryan in his sleep and his hero is there to calm and protect him.
Ryan desperately wants Zane and Zane craves Ryan, but what about their contracts, their commitments to others, they just can't be together.
As the danger levels rise both men realise that nothing is worth more to them than each other, but how can they make that happen as long as they are rock star and bodyguard?
The tension in the book rises just as Ryan has to leave Zane's side and the stalker is revealed. So many people get involved in trying to keep Zane safe and hidden, the Brotherhood are all there and of course Kenji ends up with all of the answers as you would expect. My goodness it took so much for our guys to get their hea, but all's well and lovely and warm and everyone is together again, sigh.
The comedy comes in the form of bear facts for insomniacs. This podcast would keep me up laughing instead of sleeping, just brilliant.
