Easier to use than a shovel

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for walkways and driveways!

No snow yet here in Maine - but I will update after the first snowfall. This brushless battery operated motor seems very strong putting out a manufactures stated *2,400 RPM (no-load speed).

This came with a Mellif 20V 4.0Ah battery and charger, but it is conveniently compatible with my DeWalt 20V MAX battery's! There is a power level indicator on the Mellif battery, this is convenient - as my DeWalt battery does not have this feature.

The manufacture claims that it will through snow 17' away from where you are operating - but I am sure that this is totally dependent on what type of snow (heavy or dry powder). The directional fins will be handy so that the snow can be directed in different directions.

This is going to be great for my deck, as it is large enough for my big snow blower, but it is difficult to get it up the stairs. Will be updating after we have our first snowfall.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just need some...

I just need some SNOW! This looks like a very well made implement, although not one I would tackle a parking lot with, but it was never intended for heavier use than the snow on your sidewalk or deck and maybe a driveway.

It goes together easily, doesn't weigh too much, and doesn't require gasoline and oil or a gasoline and oil mix. I have too many pieces of equipment that need those things already.

It works quite well with no snow and depending on what kind of snow we receive, I anticipate it will save me a lot of work. Okay, maybe not a lot of work but some work. The older I get the more I am of the mind to let nature take its course in the idea that it will melt eventually.

For now, I must start with 5 stars as I see a good design that is ready to go. Just waiting on the missing element.

Before I even got it together I thoroughly examined the plastics and they are top quality. The plastics at the top of the handle are softer and the plastics on the blower housing are more rigid and don’t deflect easily. The bottom has a wear bar about a 1/4 thick with 1/4 ski’s on the outer edges of the wear bar. The head of the unit has some weight to it.
When you pull the trigger there is a slight delay the motor starts and ramps up, just like battery operated brushless tools. There is a button that needs pushed to pull the trigger, and it operates the same whether you’re right handed or left handed.
The unit comes with a 4ah battery and a charger. The battery is the same size and weight as a DEWALT 4ah. The Mellif battery will not charge on a DEWALT charger.
When I used a flexvolt battery on the unit I could really hear a difference in the motor. The rpm sounded much higher.
I have a bad back and can no longer shovel snow. I think I should be able to keep the sidewalks clear using this unit on snow that’s 2” or less.
Will update if there are issues with the unit once we get some snow. I have quite a few Mellif tools and have never had an issue with performance or durability when I used at home or on the jobsite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clears the snow. A bit heavy.

I recently had cause to test this (thanks, winter) and was pleased that it came with everything needed to get started. You can choose which direction the snow blows out, which was nice for doing passes over the same area and not putting the extra snow on both sides. Do install the blue support handle. You use the blower like a snow shovel, only taking a certain amount or layer each time, so the blue handle helps you hold it at the right level. I didn't at first and it made it harder than it needed to be. Happy with this!

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid and manageable.

Our old cordless snow blower was kind of cheaply made with softer plastics that would get brittle in the cold. Not to mention how difficult it was to manage. We finally got rid of it this summer, and was happy to grab this one so we can be ready to go when the snow hits. Now I was expecting 2 batteries to be included, but funnily enough, the "2x" note on the manual has a sticker stating "1x" right over that so that was interesting to see. Honestly, I was just happy to receive one battery for backup, and it's charger at this point. Thankfully we have a whole army of DeWalt batteries ready to go that are just as compatible with this snow shovel and fit like a glove.

Just like the most of the country is experiencing, we're having quite a mild fall season and snow isn't expected for a while at this point. Either way, the construction of this snow shovel is solid. The motor is kind of loud, but won't make much of a difference outside. It's easier to manage, hold and even for those with weaker upper body strength like myself. It's just enough to clear our narrow gangway and small amount of sidewalks around our home so I'm happy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for keeping the sidewalks clear

We finally got some snow and this puppy cleared the sidewalk in two passes. Our sidewalks are uneven and the shovel got stopped a couple of times, but it was easy to jostle it over the problem edges.
Our snow was wet and slush built up in front of the shovel, but a tilt up and a strong push got it into the revolving part and it shot out to the side as it should.
It is easy to change the direction of the throw.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not very useful for wet snow

So finally we got a little bit of snow. Its really wet and heavy snow, pretty much the worst case scenario for this shovel. I figured if it can handle this-it can handle anything. Well, it can’t handle this.
I tried using it and it cant turn wet snow. There was about1.5” of snow, barely covered the ground. It tries for a couple of seconds and then just shuts down. The tiny 4AH battery doesn’t help either. The battery is way too small for something like this. So maybe this shovel can work with ideal light powder, its useless right now.
The construction of it is ok, feels kinda like early Harbor Freight cheap plastic tools. It is definitely bottom heavy, which is not necessarily a bad thing, it keeps it planted on the ground. But moving it is not easy. All shovel moving parts are plastic, and it just don’t look or feel durable. The support hand handle can moved up and down the pole and rotated, so you can sorta make it as ergonomic as possible. As of right now, a cheap snow shovel works better than this
