5.0 out of 5 stars Don’t Take Its Diminutive Size for Granted, It Rips.
Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2024
This little beast is a handy tool to have around the home. Despite its lightweight and diminutive size, it’s capable of doing large size jobs. With a sharp blade and used properly, it rips through tree branches at least 4” – 5” in girth. It will probably go through branches of almost any size, if need be, by cutting from different angles. Nothing I cut bogged it down.

The saw came assembled with the chain and guide bar installed; a convenient rotating knob is used to adjust the chain tension. As any chainsaw will, it requires bar oil, that you’ll need to provide yourself; a completely useless bar oil plastic bottle is provided. Have a funnel on hand. The saw is supplied with two batteries, a real handy convenience. When you’ve gone through one, you can put it on the charger and keep working with the other. I didn’t time them, but the batteries take a while to charge, at least two hours each. I don’t know how much charge they had when they arrived; there’s no charge state indicator on the battery or charger. When you connect a battery to the charger you get a red light that turns green when it’s charged; the manual doesn’t provide any information on charging.

Except for the bar and chain, the saw is all plastic, with a rubberized handle area for comfort. It has a safety button that must be pushed to release the trigger. Once held down, the button can be released. A word of warning: don’t take its toy-like stature and diminutive size for granted. This mini chainsaw will cut to the bone and beyond more quickly than the user might be able to react. Handle it with care and stay focused while it’s in use; there is a lot of exposed chain. Use appropriate safety gear.

After use, its easy to clean by removing the bar cover; a lot of detritus collects under it; a small brush is supplied for this purpose. Also removing the chain and soaking it in oil will help extend its life. And removing dirt from its bar track with a toothpick or something else that fits. Other than that, just wipe off the exterior.

The Mini Chainsaw is supplied with a useful plastic case, along with a few useless accessories that include the aforementioned bar oil bottle, cloth gloves that are not likely to provide protection against anything within the realm of chain sawing, and a pretend pair of safety glasses. Useful accessories include the charging block, a cleaning brush, a small Philips head screwdriver, and an extra chain and battery. The cheap, toy-like accessories are forgivable, since what you do get for $30 is still a good value. No doubt they were thrown in there so the seller could say they were.

Durability is always an unknow quantity so early in ownership, but aside from that, it seems like an excellent value. The seller does offer 30-days free return and a one-year warranty. What would make a useful accessory for the saw is a pole that it can be attached to for reaching high branches and the like. I do note that there are such kits available, but I haven’t found an optional pole for this saw. Maybe the seller will hear me. In the meantime, I have no criticisms of the saw.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well, but I worry about longevity
Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2024
Let's get right to it... This mini chainsaw quickly chews through tree branches up to 4 inches in diameter. It weighs just 2-1/2 pounds with the battery, so fatigue is not a factor, like with heavy gas chainsaws. The top guard protects you from kickbacks. The batteries lasted longer than I had work to do. I'm guessing you could get a full half hour of continuous limb chopping with the two included batteries.

Other nice features: The saw comes with a very nice, molded plastic case with a carrying handle and two solid clips to keep it closed. The kit also includes two batteries, AC charger (with a short 2-foot cord), an extra 6-inch chain, a pair of work gloves, small oil dispenser (chain oil not included), safety glasses, small Phillips screwdriver (not sure for what use, as this chainsaw requires no tools to operate or maintain), and a small brush to clean the chain.

The chainsaw has a safety button that must be pressed to engage the saw button. It's fairly easy to press the safety button with your thumb while engaging the saw with your fingers gripped around the saw handle. No tools are required to tighten or loosen the chain; just roll the silver knob on the side, which is really handy in the field. And no tools are required to replace the chain; just loosen the wingnut and remove the guide plate. When installing a chain, be sure to pay attention to the direction of the cutting teeth.

This chainsaw has a manual oiler: you have to fill up the oil reservoir with standard bar & chain oil, then engage the saw and pump the bubble button on top of the saw to lubricate the chain. If you're used to using a gas chainsaw with an automatic oiler, you may forget to keep this chainsaw primed. But when you notice the saw not cutting as quickly or efficiently, or you see friction smoke, it's likely time to re-pump the bubble button or refill the oil reservoir. It's important not to let this saw dry out, as I've had similar saws freeze up the chain or burn out the motor.

Now my longevity concern... This saw uses a proprietary 21V Veitorld battery, that to my knowledge, fits no other tools and cannot be purchased separately. I'm hoping these batteries last a few years at least, because once the batteries are dead, the saw will likely be unusable. I really wish tool manufacturers would standardize these batteries like AA, AAA, C and D.

This saw won't cut your way through a downed tree, but if you are looking for a lightweight, portable chainsaw to trim branches or clear a hiking trail, this Veitorld saw will be an affordable solution.

I like how small and lightweight the saw is, yet, it cuts through wood well. The only thing I don't like about it is that it is hard to know how much bar oil to put in. They gave me a little bottle, but I didn't know how to open it or what to do when it was open, so I overflowed the bar oil reservoir.

I like that this version, similarly to more expensive brands, gets lubricated. For this price tag, you couldn't go wrong.

It was suitable for one use but then leaked chainsaw oil everywhere. I already have a 6-inch chainsaw, but I snatched this up because it was only $17, included a second battery, and came in a hard case. The case is awful—super flimsy, with holes chewed into it by the chainsaw before I received it. This is garbage; don't waste your money or ultimately contribute it to a landfill.
