5.0 out of 5 stars I’m actually learning

I love this course. I use it while I drive, and it feels like a rock solid introduction to the language, with just enough new words/conjugation/concepts being balanced with constant repetition. I can feel my pronunciation improving and things settling into my long term memory in a different way than other language learning systems Ive tried. A few things it has felt a bit draggy or slow, and I’ve just I change the speed to 1.25 or so for a bit, until we get into new territory again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learning Italian effortlessly on long walk
Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2021
This is the best language course ever. I've done Duolingo and watched tons of youtube learn Italian classes, but for some reason the way Paul teaches just TOTALLY CLICKS.

I was able to speak italian in only a few hours and can actually come up with my own phrases now for everyday life. This is so much better than slogging through vocab.

Immensely grateful for Paul Noble creating this course and the ability to listen and practice while out on long walks. Just bought his "Next Steps" course.

When we return to Italy for our next trip post-covid, I'm going to have so much fun conversing with locals. I really cannot wait.

After a year of focusing on Duolingo to learn Italian, I began listening to this audio training. Paul's approach is excellent, easy to understand, and has helped me take my Italian to another level. I still enjoy Duolingo every day but find this to be a perfect supplement to help speed my progress.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learn Italian for Beginners - Good; All 3 parts cost same as each part
Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2024
This is a good basic Italian audio course. If anything, it's almost too slow (I've heard "I'd like to reserve a table" it feels like 500 times not 10 or 15).
Note that Beginner Italian parts 1,2, and 3 (each about 4 hours) costs close to the same for each part, as, all 3 parts (Beginner's complete). I believe once you have heard Paul Noble Beginners Part 1,2,3 (or Beginner Complete), you can get Paul Noble Intermediate Complete.
I have listened to 15-hour audio courses from Pimsleur (learning a couple hundred words of Hebrew and Greek that way), and while the words and content are not the same, the idea and progress in a Paul Noble course is probably about the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars Effective methodology.
Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2023
The methodology which includes clear grammatical explanations and great tips on remmembering them is very helpful. And the well-timed repetitions of structures integrating old and new vocabulary items is great.

The only suggestion I have is to upgrade the recordings. In almost every case, the first syllable of the answers given by the female is cut off. Luckily, the answers are repeated twice,
but even so it's annoying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incorrect Review
Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2023
I would first like to say the post about Paul Noble being incorrect on the use of “ha” for “you have” (they say it should be “tu hai”) is incorrect. True, the INFORMAL YOU HAVE is HAI, but Paul Noble starts out with the formal and DOES go on later to the informal. If one goes to Italy it will be much more common to interact with people in the FORMAL unless someone tells you to address them as informal. This it is better that he is stressed the formal.
So unless you have Italian-speaking friends you speak in your own country or if you have family and friends in Italy when you go there, you will be speaking formally to waiters, hotel clerks, drivers, shop owners, etc.
As far as someone complaining about having to repeat the phrases and being bored, well it is about repetition and using our mouth muscles to form words we are not used to pronouncing. Repeating gets words in our memory. Talking out loud gets words in our memory.
There are some excellent “tips” on how to remember things in this course.
Now on to the next level! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful with some mistakes
Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2023
I am learning a lot from this audiobook, however my partner is Italian and points out some mistakes. For example in the beginning it states "you have" is the same as "she has" or "he has" and that is incorrect. "You have" is "hai" and the other two are "ha".
