    Better than fancy feast. Fancy feast is more expensive only because the brand spends a lot on promotion, packaging and advertising. Both FF and MM use fake rubbery protein, which smart cats quickly learn to avoid (unless they are super hungry). They lap up the sauce and leave the rest behind. The sauce contains the good stuff like taurine and other cats' specific vitamins and minerals. I make sure I give one cup a day, because I feed my cat real food (human quality fish/poultry, some meet for less than $2/lb) and I don't want to bother with amounts and proportions of minerals/vitamins I should add. And so yes, I have plenty of experience with both Meow Mix and Fancy Feast and both me and my cat find Meow Mix a better quality.

    My cat is an old fellow, @ 19 years old. He's become very finicky in his old age. Plus, he has FIV. We didnt learn he had FIV until he was about 12 or 13, when he started having symptoms, that increased as the years went by. He occasionally has mouth ulcers to flare up. He can't eat some textures when its like that. He eats fine when his mouth is doing well. But, textures can be a deal breaker for him now. But, he's eaten this before and loved it. Now, he usually turns is nose up to this. He'll occasionally eat a tiny bit, and then start flinging bits of it out of his mouth. Then, walks away. So, I guess it's not for him. Now, I do think it's a mixture of the flavor and texture with this tuna with shrimp flavor. I say this, becaus he'll occasionally eat about half a container of another flavor in this same line, that has salmon with crab pieces in it. It's texture is the same as this one. He doesn't care much for the crab pieces in that one, and will not eat them. If he does get crab pieces in his mouth, he ends up shaking his head to fling it out of his mouth. I just don't think he cares much for these now. He used to like them back before covid hit. With cat foods, there was less and less to choose from. He hadn't had anything from this specific line, for 2-3 years at least. We still have trouble finding stuff he likes. The variety just isn't there in grocery stores. So, I saw these on Amazon, and bought them, remembeing he liked them before. Maybe something has changed in the recipe. Idk ????????‍♀️

    We've been feeding my cats this for year. It doesn't smell great, you're going to want to wash the dishes out after a use if you don't have a dog licking them clean -- but the cats love it. Mine are all 10+ and one is almost 19. The food seems to be keeping them going! For a while they were making them too watery, but the company seems to have fixed that problem.
