5.0 out of 5 stars My Garage camera no longer drops signal

Got my XR on friday hooked it up was a super easy process. Deleted the hub from the blink app it saved all the cameras to the account. All i had to do was add the new hub took a total of 3 minutes and presto all work great. My garage camera now responds immediately and has not dropped yet when it used to happen almost daily as hub is in my house and garage on adjacent property.

Hooked up the new module found none of my cameras. Rehooked up old module now it won’t connect unless I do them all manually. Customer service was no help. Some of my cameras are on the roof. I recently got lung cancer no shape to climb up and get the #s. So it ruined my whole
system?

Blink customer service reached out to me and recovered all my cameras. The new system works great. Thanks so much for the help Kevin gave me to rectify the entire problem. This is a great buy and I continue to love my BLINK system.

I GOT IT TO WORK!!! It turns out it was a problem with my WiFi Router. At least I think so. I reset the router and then got the sync module to work...

3.0 out of 5 stars Larger then the old Sync module 2.

I'm totally blind. I got this in hope it will be better than the old Sync Module 2 system. The first things I did notice when I got this out of the box. The module is larger than the old one as far as it is a larer square. It also doesn't feel a cheep as far as in your hand. The bottom of the module has an silacon/rubber around the edging of it. So it doesn't slide as easy. The reset button is also easier to press and hold if you need to. The power brick is the same as the old one. Don't know why they didn't include a USB C power brich. There is a USB A male to USB C Male cable in the box as far as a short one if you need it. The reset button is on the bottom of the unit just under ware the USB C plugs in. The Micro SD card slot is on the side of the unit.

I do not have a paied account to start with. So I ahve a total of 5 camera's feeding to the Sync module. hopefully this module is better at keeping and maintaining connections to the camrea's than the old Sync 2 module was able to do. Only time will tell on that. The old module from time to time would have a camera trigger and it would report the wrong camera and not record anything. What I noticed it looked to always be one of the outdoor 4 camera's that mostly had issues. From time to time, the Video doorbell would get triggered and it would say it was one of the outdoor 4 camera's when it wasn't. Again, in this case! Nothing would get recorded.

So that is why I'm giving it 3 stars out of 5 at this point in time. Not really impressed with the Blink stuff. To me, I wouldn't depend on it for Security at all if you do not have a plan. It is more of a TOY and not to be depended on at this point in time. Yes the Camera's report 4 bars for Wi-Fi and to the Sync module.

As far as that goes, I've even had the Sync 2 module mess up one USB drive.

So hopefully this sinc module is a better design! But like I said, only time will tell that. Now if the camera's themselves had a Micro SD card in them! I would be a muc hhappyer person being the outdoor 4 and Video doorbell run off of battery to start with. No worry at that point of no recording if the power goes out to the Sinc module and or no internet service.

But what do you expect for a low end cheap system.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great for extended range but there are limits to the number of cameras
Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2024
I have been waiting over a year for this new module to come out and it finally did. There are many positives and some limitations that are not thoroughly described on the item :

+ It works fine with A new blink camera at 250 feet which is beyond my wifi range. That alone makes it a winner and a keeper for use on a far away gate or outside a building.
+The quality of the unit appears to be heavier and much better than the earlier plastic sync modules which are lightweight plastic.
+Easy to hook up and sync with new cameras

The minus: There are three ranges you can set the camera on using the new sync module. In the highest quality video mode, you are not restricted on the number of cameras as you are in wifi mode. In the extended range up to 250 feet you can use two cameras at mid quality video but the others must be on high quality wi fi. If you use the 400 feet max extended range, you can only use 1 camera at lowest quality and the others must be on wifi. If you intend on running several cameras at max range it will not work as you can only add one camera at max range 400 feet per module without adding a second module.
-You are limited to 2 modules per account which equals 4 cameras at 250 feet mid quality or 2 cameras at 400 feet lowest quality plus the remaining 8 cameras per module at wifi range.

As long as you understand that the module will not allow you to add multiple long range cameras (only 2 at 250ft or 1 at 400 feet) then it is a great addition to the blink system.
