5.0 out of 5 stars Secure Your Ring Video Doorbell Without Drilling: A Guy's Review of the No-Drill Mount
Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2023
As a guy who loves technology but doesn't want to damage my home's walls, I was excited to try out the No-Drill Mount for my Ring Video Doorbell. I have to say, I'm really impressed with this product!

The No-Drill Mount is weather-proof, durable, and uses strong non-damaging adhesive to keep my Ring Video Doorbell 3 securely attached to the wall. The setup was incredibly easy – all I had to do was adhere the No-Drill Mount to the wall and then attach my Ring Video Doorbell 3 to the mount. I didn't need any special tools or experience, which was great.

Another thing I love about the No-Drill Mount is that it's easy to remove. If I need to take down my Ring Video Doorbell 3 for any reason, I can simply detach it from the mount and pull down on the adhesive strips. There's no need to worry about damaging my walls or leaving behind any residue.

The No-Drill Mount is also very versatile. It's designed to work with the Ring Video Doorbell 3, Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus, and Ring Video Doorbell 4, and it's weather-resistant, which is great for someone like me who lives in an area with extreme weather conditions.

Overall, I highly recommend the No-Drill Mount for anyone who wants a secure and easy-to-install solution for mounting their Ring Video Doorbell without drilling into their walls. It's durable, weather-resistant, and easy to remove, making it a great investment for anyone who wants to protect their home without damaging it. Just keep in mind that it works best on even and smooth surfaces, and it may be difficult to adhere to certain surfaces like brick or rough stucco.

I had ordered two no drill mounts for my ring. After reading the reviews about the actual ring no drill mount I decided to keep the ring no drill mount. I did have concern some of the reviews indicated that the mount didn’t stay up. Some reviews said that after they put gorilla tape on the mount they had no more problems with the no drill mount falling down. My no drill mount with ring attached has been up now for a few weeks I’ve had no problem with it falling off my door. I did use gorilla tape also to ensure that It wouldn’t fall off.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect!

I bought this because I don't want to drill into the side of my house that I rent. A friend told me about the no drill mount. I love it! It was easy installing it. Just wipe clean the area you want it, let it dry, peel back the stickers, stick it to the area and hold for 5 minutes. Wait 24 hours to put your ring camera on it. It was hanging up at the old house for a year before I moved. Never once fell off. Matter of fact, i had to use a butter knife to pry the mount off of the old house! The no drill mount comes with an extra set of adhesive, but I lost the extra set and had to buy another no drill mount for my new house.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great! Just attached to original mount.

The directions are misleading depending on your device. I have the latest 2024, and the faceplate does not remove. But what I did was screw the PURCHASED mount that comes with screws to originally attach to the Ring device and I screwed it into the “drill mount” that came with the ring device, there for allowing me to attach and remove the chargeable device as intended. It’s works well, 10/10 recommend. Don’t get any others they’re not compatible. Perfect size, this design was definitely intended for Ring, and priced very well.
The photo will show the two mounts attached.

This review is for those that are looking to this product when they are unable to use the screw/anchor pairs included in the primary kit along with the Wedge angled bracket additionally. In my case I was asked to secure to a brick surface without drilling holes with a masonry bit. In some cases this is because a landlord may forbid the defacing of the brick, but in this case the brick was 70 years old and the potential of the brick simply crumbling was a real possibility. Therefore we opted to try this part.

The online information makes some mention of the adhesive not working well on brick but did say it worked on concrete. The brick in this circumstance was actually a smooth brick finish, similar to a style you would see in a brick oven, versus the more porous styles popular today. I waited till the outdoor temp was > 65F on a sunny day to encourage proper curing. I prepped the site by cleaning it thoroughly with a 50/50 vinegar/water mixture and allowed it to dry. Knowing that the adhesive may not work 100% I entertained the idea of liquid nails to augment the adhesion. My local big box store did not carry the small craft size of liquid nails, so I grabbed the next closest construction adhesive I could find. E6000 plus, which touts itself as an all-weather waterproof construction adhesive. I filled in the surface between the two adhesive strips with the E6000 Plus and used the adhesive strips to secure the mount in-place while the E6000 cures and dries over the next 72hrs.

There was a lot of confusion in the documentation what screws came with the mount. Some had claimed none and that you use the screws from the ring doorbell kit. This is not the case. The screws that ship with the doorbell are wood screws with the exception of the machine screw with the security end that prevents battery removal by some random porch pirate. If you look at the image of the mount you will see there are brass threaded ferrules designed for machine screws, not unthreaded plastic holes one would see for using the wood style screws. I have included pictures of the baggie of screws which show 5 pan head style and 3 countersunk style screws (in both cases one extra was included for any "oops!"). The countersunk screws are used for the two centerline holes to secure the Wedge bracket to this kit, as annotated in the insert included with the baggie. The other pan head screws would be used in the 4 square positions of the mount lining up with the 4 holes in the lower half of the ring doorbell.

It is worth mentioning that when I ordered this kit to mount my mother-in-laws doorbell, my wife ordered it at the same time and did not tell me. Returning the unopened item as a duplicate was a rather painful process by amazon. Unlike other returns to the UPS Store, where you just needed the item and the return barcode, Ring items insist on being returned in their original amazon packaging (not manufacturer packaging but the actual amazon box). Well mine came packaged in a paper tear-open envelop that gets destroyed opening. Therefore to return this at the UPS Store I had to spend $4 of MY MONEY on a padded envelope, just to return an unopened item which I only had because amazon would not let me cancel the order before it shipped, insisting I would have to use the return system.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product but No directions

I bought this because I am not drilling into my brick of my house and I could stick this to my storm door. It works great; however, there were no directions and the QR code that was supposed to take you to the “manual” did not work! Thankfully someone else took a picture of the directions in their review so I knew which of the screws to use!
