    This is a well-constructed product that complements the Kindle Scribe beautifully. It is simple to use and has the added benefits of a built-in eraser and a dedicated programmable button located on its stem. I especially like the fact that it functions just like a regular pencil. No need to switch between erase and write modes in the side tab. Also, importantly the latency is virtually zero when writing notes. In sum, a very neat and necessary product that works well with the Scribe.

    I did not update my Kindle Scribe 2022 to the 2024 model, but I did buy a new stylus. I find that there and is ever so slight increase in the responsiveness of the screen in concert with the premium pen. For me there is no detectable lag. Also, though I was skeptical of the change in the eraser, I really do prefer the feel of the new eraser over the harder plastic one on my old premium pen.

    Writing with this pen on the Kindle Scribe is my favorite electronic writing experience. It brings back the fun of writing with pen and paper. The eraser and pen nib both have a nice, natural feel.

    If this is the only pen you have used with your Kindle Scribe, it's fine for the most part. If, like me, you got a basic pen with the original Scribe, the upgrade is not worth it at all. I decided to upgrade because I use the lasso tool a lot and thought it would be nice to have a shortcut button for it -- only to discover that you can't assign the lasso tool to the shortcut button. I don't really use an eraser a lot when taking notes, so that's not a difference maker for me. It's a pretty green color, though -- so I got THAT for $80.

    I feel a bit bad for giving it only 3 stars because it's a solid enough pen and surely is a better fit for others. But, at the same time, the lack of the lasso option for the shortcut button is so inexplicable I want to give it only 1 star. So 3 seems like a decent compromise.
