Needs simple improvements.
It comes in 3 sections that that still wobble when assembled. You need a 6mm Allen wrench to tighten 2 screws very tight.I used blue Loctite since I'll seldom dismantle the pole.Just tightening the thumb screws is ineffective. The Greenworks 80v pole saw is a better design in this regard.
The chain adjuster is awkward to use. Stihl has a more accessible adjuster.
The charge level indicator is excellent.
Compared to the Greenworks it seems heavier and has less reach. The head is not angled and the Instructions limit the saw to a 60 degree attack angle. This reduces the effective reach to much less than saws like the Greenworks with an angled head. Not recommended but I can use the Greenworks at full stretch vertically( zero degrees).A huge advantage if you know what you are doing.Trying that with the Snow Joe would be very foolish.
In use the SunJoe's chain likely to get pinched by a falling limb. This problem often causes the chain to derail and get bent(keep a stock of spare chains!).
There are other needless failings which are disappointing since the Greenworks equivalent has been available to copy/improve on for many years. Did SunJoe fail to test this saw as a prototype with Greenworks users like me ? I look forward to an improved design from SunJoe in future but please test it on heavy users like me first ? The manufacturing cost difference between a mediocre saw like this and one better than Greenworks would have been negligible.
