The line advance function took some getting used to. But once I did, I like it. Basically, if you want the line to advance, just stop the trimmer by releasing the trigger. Then when you start the trimmer again, line will advance automatically. On the other hand, if you DON'T want the line to advance, the trick is to just keep the trimmer spinning. Once I figured that out, I had no trouble at all. Works great!
