5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent phone

This phone is.in excellent condition. I wanted to update my business phone. I had a Pixel 4. My main personal phone is a Galaxy 24 Ultra. My business line is through Mint Mobile. I needed an unlocked phone. It was so easy to transfer. I took out my sim card and put it in.the.new phone. I had my old phone connected to WiFi. All I had to do was take a screen shot of the QR code with my new phone and everything transferred. Included my Wifi connection. Now that was for Mint Mobile. $15 a month and you just pay the whole year at once. My main phone is Spectrum but you can't go wrong with $15 a month for a business line. The Pixel 8 is a great upgrade. I didn't want to invest a ton of money into business line so this is perfect. I cam take great pictures and have a way better phone now. I'm very happy with this used phone. If there's scratches then they're too small for me to notice. I have screen protectors on the camera and front screen in the pics. The phone works perfect. If there's any issues with the phone failing, I'll update.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware - Locked phone
Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2024
Just received this phone today and spent several hours setting it up. As many other users have already commented, the phone is locked to Xfinity and does not recognize my SIM card. As far as I can tell it cannot be unlocked. Awaiting a response from the seller but I am not confident anything can be done. Expecting to return this falsely advertised and useless product soon. If seller is able to correct the issue I will update this review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Phone

The five-star is really just for the refurbished item. Has worked well for me for about 7 months now. When It got it, was just like new.

The pixel 8 itself is mostly great for the average user. Photos and videos are great especially if you don't zoom beyond 2X. What I don't like about the Pixel 8 in general is the chip which is deficient in terms of GPU power. I couldn't get it to render some AR content based on 3D Gaussian Splatting,

4.0 out of 5 stars Good phone

I like this phone. I've liked it a lot better since I installed a different launcher (Nova) to get more options for customizing the screen. I bought it because I wanted a phone with NFC, USB-C, and way more storage. The fingerprint reader and the speakers are better than the ones on my last phone (LG K31). Also, I was able to set up a 6-digit PIN instead of a 4-digit one for better security.

The downside is that the thing is the same size but heavier that my last phone, and it's physically unbalanced because of the camera and its housing. I guess I'm the only person who ever buys a Pixel because it has a good set of features at a good price and doesn't give a rat's patoot about the camera, but that's what I did. This is my first Pixel, and I was surprised by the weight and bulk of the camera array. Still, it's not a deal-breaker.

The other thing is that it's SUPER slippery! You'll need a case or skin for it just to keep it from sliding off of every single thing you ever put it down on. It does seem to be very sturdy, and that's a very good thing.

Overall, I'm pleased with the Pixel 8. Wonder how good the pictures I will eventually take with it will be?

1.0 out of 5 stars Issues with touch screen after 2 and a half months, poor customer service
Reviewed in the United States on December 23, 2024
The phone was fine, but after 2.5 months of ownership it became hard to type. The best way to describe the issue is like what happens when you have big fingers, except my typing has been perfect up to that moment. I would restart the phone and the issue would go away, but then randomly come back.

I contacted vendor DNCL-TECHZONE and they agreed to my return. They even agreed to a later return as I was traveling back from from abroad.

However, at the moment the vendor received the phone back, they started claiming that the phone had no issues in their short testing, which may have not been enough to experience what I was experiencing.

The vendor DNCL-TECHZONE did not get back to me to try to understand more about what was failing, they immediately said they'd be keeping a 20% restocking fee, which in their return policies is due to "abusing the return process", and if "if the customer misrepresents the condition of the product".

This vendor is not offering me a solution. This vendor DNCL-TECHZONE is actually putting the burden of their product not working as expected on me, making me pay for a restocking fee on a phone that didn't operate properly when I had it, and potentially selling it to the next person who will run into these issues.

I believe this is not the way to treat a customer. I have an open case with Amazon and will update this review as the case evolves.
