3.0 out of 5 stars Underwhelming Performance: My Experience with the Anker 531 200W Solar Panel
Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2024
Unfulfilled Potential: Evaluating the Anker 531 Solar Panel's Performance.

I recently purchased the Anker 531 portable solar panel and, unfortunately, my experience has not met expectations. Despite placing the panel in direct sunlight on a cloudless day and adjusting its angle and position, I was only able to achieve a maximum output of 94 watts—less than half of the advertised wattage. All connections used the included cables and connectors to charge the Anker Solix F2000 (powerhouse 767).

Given the full retail price of these panels, this performance equates to approximately $6.38 per watt, which raises concerns about the overall value. While Anker advises buyers to anticipate lower output than advertised, the significant disparity in performance is unexpected and disappointing.

3.0 out of 5 stars This solar panel did not come with connecting wire.

Had to ship the entire unit back to Anker. Why not just ship the missing wire?... Just another added headache..... I read other posts that had the same issue with this solar panel... Not good... Also the Anker767 Powerhouse does not work well with other brands of solar panels... I mixed Allpowers 200W solar panel with Anker 531... The 767 Solar Gen did not like it and the wattage decreased by half.... You must use all of one or all of the other... Be advised you cannot use 2 differing panels (IE: 48V and 24V solar panels) at the same time.. This info is not listed in product information online and I had to find out why at Anker Customer Service. Had I known I would have only bought the cheaper Allpowers panels which perform basically the same as the 531's

3.0 out of 5 stars 1 of the 2 Panels Ordered Did Not Have the XT60 to XT60 Cable; Support Shipped The Cable
Reviewed in the United States on October 24, 2023
One of the two recertified Anker 531 panels I ordered did not come with the XT60 to XT60 cable that is needed to connect to the Anker 767. I called their support, and found them to be prompt and helpful. There are sending me the cable, but they did not have the cable bag that holds the cord (not needed for operation), so they refunded me $10. As this is not the first review regarding missing cables, their RMA facility needs to improve their pre-shipment quality control checks to avoid this simple error.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as powerful as a cheaper panel
Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2023
The construction and everything feels good, but I was surprised to find out that the supposed 200W panel was only outputting 106W to my Anker 767 PowerHouse. Surprisingly, a much cheaper 200W panel (the AllPowers AP-SP-033-BLA) was outputting 155W to the exact same Anker 767 PowerStation with the same cables, panel placement and everything. Ironically, the Anker solar panel was brand new out of the box, and the AllPowers solar panels was just back from a camping trip and had quite a bit of dust and dirt on the panels themselves. Yet it STILL managed to outperform the Anker panel.

Not sure what's going on, but I'm returning mine and buying two more of the cheaper ones.

This panel was outperformed by a 100 watt Harbor Freight panel that cost $150... Really Anker, I owned and still own a few of your products, but this was a serious disappointing piece of equipment. Very sad.

I retuned the panel on August 11th and I am still waiting for my account to be credited after 1 month. This is terrible and will be contacting my credit card company to dispute the charges. Not only does the solar panel suck, they won't give me my money back. This SUCKS!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not 200 watts
Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2024
I have been using this Solar Panel for about 6 months now. Living in California we have plenty of sunshine. The highest output I have seen is about 115 watts. But most of the time it hovers around the 70’s and 80’s. I know the angle is importaint and I took that into consideration and have been working with it for a while. Could be that I have a defective panel or something. But I’m not sure. This is just my opinion.

The panels are heavy and durable which isn't nearly as important as being efficient. Totally agree with other reviews. 200 watts only gets you 100 and some watts, at 500 bucks for each panel. I expected a much better return for the money spent on the 767 and panels. I'm guessing Anker finally realized that after many negative reviews, they finally lowered the price by 100 bucks.
