    Great price

upgraded from an old motorola one ace (it was slow)
    Big change for me.

    loving it.

Looks brand new and functions like new. good battery life. I did not see any visible scratches.

    phone is unlocked
    IMEI is compatible with visible

I simply swapped sims and everything is working great.

using visible as a phone service.

using this phone mainly as a music player for jellyfin / symfonium
    working great

    takes nice photos too.

    would buy again

I had to clean my SIM card with a qtip. My SIM card is old.
    hope it helps

1.0 out of 5 stars Ordered Twice - Both Defective
Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2024
I ordered and returned two phones that were supposidly unlocked and in excellent condition. I'm still waiting on a refund for both phones.

The first order was locked to Xfinity. Xfinity wouldn't even talk to me about unlocking the phone.

The second order was badly scratched up, not in good condition at all, and was obviously not tested as it wouldn't charge or turn on. It also included a note saying it was locked to Verizon.

Amazon says "This product is inspected, tested, and refurbished, as necessary to be fully functional according to Amazon Renewed standards."

But Amazon is just outsourcing to third party sellers and are clearly not enforcing any standard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent phone in like New condition
Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2024
I'm very pleased with the actual phone and the condition of it. Pixel has fantastic battery life, snappy responsiveness, and does everything I need it to do. It takes excellent photos, can play some games very well, and has a lot of neat Google features.

My only complaint comes in the company fulfilling the order. This is the third renewed item I've purchased, and each time they promise delivery in 2 days before ordering, and then end up taking much more time because they use FedEx instead of fulfillment by Amazon. I don't mind the weight, but I really dislike that they give you one time frame and then on the day it's supposed to be delivered. Change the date. Date. Some of us stay home from work to receive these expensive items so they aren't sitting on our front porch all day, so being deceptive about the delivery time in the item description and initial order is a problem. Buyer be aware: The listed delivery time is likely not factual in the case of these Renewed items. Plan for a 4 or 5 day delivery window.

That said, the item received was of highest quality with no cosmetic issues and a healthy battery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Locked or Unlocked, that is the question...
Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2024
I have purchased several phones from Amazon before this, each allegedly unlocked. But what are we asking when we ask that question? If a phone is stolen, it can be locked from being reactivated. A phone can be locked because the person you purchased it from didn't share their passcode to "unlock" the phone to make calls. Then there is Carrier Unlocked, which usually means it can be used with any provider's (like AT&T, Verizon, TMobile, etc.) system. There may be other things that unlocked may refer to that I am frankly ignorant about. Any time I've purchased a phone that was supposed to be unlocked, and it would not activate, the seller always insisted it was unlocked. Finally, with this Pixel 7, I seem to have a phone which is carrier unlocked, as well as not having a user lock. No warnings about using a specific network's SIM card were presented on activation. In fact, the phone appeared completely new other than generic packaging. It functions well, clean,no scratches anywhere on the exterior, initial setup was as if it was an unused phone. The screen has no "burn in" patterns and is bright and responds quickly to touch. Battery appears to be like new as well. I purchased this phone after using iPhones for about 8 years. I tired of Apple's insisting I buy more cloud space without an effective way to remove my photos (and KEEP them), the only choices being to delete them or subscribe for more cloud space. Apple doesn't have to do it that way, but they want you to buy cloud space. A dollar a month doesn't seem like much, but multiply that by 230million users!

The cloud is probably the most environmentally damaging way to hang onto old digital photos ever invented. Also, if at some point the cloud loses your photos, you have little recourse. That is also the case if they change the rules about access to YOUR DATA. Research it.

I you think you want a new phone, a good place to start your research is gsmarena. I like the Pixel series because there are custom ROMS, operating systems, that can be loaded in place of Android. Remember how I said I switched from Apple to Android? Well my previous Android phone wasn't to my liking, which is why I switched to iPhones to start with...and because MS messed up the WONDERFUL Windows Phone 8.1, I felt there were no other choices. I digress...in case I don't like the latest offering from Android I wanted options, like LineageOS and GrapheneOS. So far I am experimenting with the stock Android until I know it isn't merely learning curve that frustrates me.By the way, Google has their own dirty cloud, as does MS. I avoid them all.

My final word of advice is to be prepared to return the phone, any phone. You might have just a bad example, or maybe it wasn't properly listed, or renewed, or unlocked. Mistakes happen. Or maybe the phone just isn't right for you. I didn't need to contact this seller for anything, I am happy with the purchase ! The seller was "thegadgetdeals".

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible. Came with bootloader unlocked and phone is not true carrier unlocked version.
Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2024
I was shocked to receive this phone with the bootloader unlocked. That is really concerning because as message on starting the phone says "The bootloader is unlocked and software integrity cannot be guaranteed. Any data stored on the device may be available to attackers. Do not store any sensitive data on the device." Just unreal. It makes me question how thorough the whole "Amazon Renewed standards" process was to begin with. To make matters worse, I chose this phone because it indicated it was the unlocked version (carrier unlocked). Instead of receiving the true unlocked version which should be Model number GVU6C, I received the carrier version, Model number GQML3, typically sold by Verizon. I travel internationally a lot and suspect this version may have restrictions that Verizon imposes, if I want to switch to an international SIM card.
