5.0 out of 5 stars Its perfect

Installed it, works like it should, drained out and flushed the system before installing.
Installed on a 2008 Subaru Impreza. Cant say it was easy, Pre align/center rack and Pinion before you install the steering shaft, also keep the rack loose and start the steering shaft before tightening it up. Install the tie rods in the same place as the old unit. make sure you check toe before you drive it to get an alignment.

3.0 out of 5 stars one year later, leaking from steer shaft seal.. worked good and fit well otherwise!
Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2024
Daughters car needed this because of crazy amounts of fluid lost, bought and installed and instant relief from oil leaks! its supposed to be that way tho. One year later it is leaking from the same place the old one was, the steer shaft seal, tho not as much. I'm guessing that sealing surface was not addressed during remanufacturing or it is a very high wear spot.

Cardone claims they test their parts before selling them, but this is a lie. The rack I received has slack on it so it's impossible to realign and the steering column will make clunking sounds everytime you go through a slight bump. In the video, you can hear the loud thunk everytime I turn the wheel.

I had thought it was a suspension problem and never thought it was the brand new, rebuilt rack, so I'm past the return window on Amazon and Cardone will not honor their "lifetime warranty" if you buy this through Amazon.

I now have a useless rack. Stay away.

1.0 out of 5 stars Seals failed within a month

Same problem as other reviews. Started leaking soon after install. I read the reviews after I had my failure so a returned mine for a refund and purchased an other brand. I have had good experiences with Cardone products before so hopefully they can figure out where the failure is in their re-manufacturing process. Amazon did refund the money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Leaking internally

Same exact problem as other reviewer. Have less than 1,000. miles and found my power steering reservoir empty and no sign's of leaks anywhere and then noticed the bellows boots swollen. Iv used Cardone brand before with no problems but they must have some low wage guys rebuilding these racks. Also note there were no o-rings for the lines and I needed 4 total.
