I bought the refurbished product and it did come with the bundled software. All you have to do is register the serial number on the focusrite website to download the bundles.
The audio quality through the headphones is fantastic. I'm currently using with Sennheiser HD650's monitoring through headphone output 1. I'm sure the other outputs are the same but I can only speak for the headphones currently. The software mixer is a great feature if you like to play instruments along with Spotify songs to practice like I do. I was able to balance the volumes easily. I run my ax fx 2 in stereo via xlr to inputs 3-4 on the rear of the interface. When compared to monitoring on my old Gen2 2i4, it is night and day the audio clarity.
I keep mine mounted in my rack and just as a word of warning it does not sit flush. It will protrude out about 1/4". Not a big deal to me, but it is worth keeping in mind.
Overall this interface is easily worth the money if you appreciate high quality audio. No problems with the refurbished version yet, but I'm sure it depends on which one you get.
