5.0 out of 5 stars Good product

Replaced a Nettalk Duo that had become a problem to keep working. Had to reboot it everyday. The Ooma works great, sound quality is superb. It's easy to set up and they have live tech support if it's needed. Nettalk has dropped their live support and it's a pain to communicate with them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wifi setup was difficult. So my experience may help

For those having trouble connecting the Ooma Telo Air 2 to Wi-Fi read on,

I had this issue so what I did was connect it to my internet modem and waited for it to program. Then once it was sat up I picked up the phone and dialed *#*#501. Phone beeps 3 times and that activated the Bluetooth. I then signed out of the app then back in and started the process again with the wifi method and it worked successfully and connected to my wifi. Save time and aggravation and do it this way. It's worth it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Difficult Wi-Fi setup but proven method
Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2023
I was able to use the Ooma app and link the device to my network using the WIRED connection with no issue. There was an issue connecting the device to my Wi-Fi. The device didn’t seem to like the Wi-Fi password. I made a simple password on my network but no change. I removed the password and the device connected. The device didn’t like WPA2. I reduced security settings until the device was able to connect to the network.
Suggestion: Create a GUEST network for just the Ooma and reduce the security so that the network is still password protected.

1.0 out of 5 stars No longer support Google Voice extensions
Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2024
Got a refurb. Came looking like new. Was fairly easy to set up. Sound quality was pretty good.

However, I bought the thing because it's advertised as compatible with Google Voice. There are instructions for linking to your GV account using Ooma's Google Voice Extensions.

Guess what? It doesn't work. When it gets to the step of verifying your Google Voice number, the text from Ooma to GV with the verification PIN never arrives in my GV message inbox.

After hours of fruitless googling, trying all kinds of steps, I finally broke down and called customer support. The nice lady had never heard of google voice extensions and after consulting with "Level 2 Support", told me the google voice extensions are no longer available. Lovely.

So I can fwd the calls from GV to Ooma (as with GV fwding for any other number) but having an outbound Ooma call showing my GV number won't work. Grrr... That was the entire point for going with Oooma in the first place.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but nearly $9 per month in fees.

Installation was fairly simple. Download the setup app first before powering on. Read screen instructions carefully. Like the instructions said, I had to turn off/on my phone Bluetooth a few times during device pairing, other than that setup was easy. Important: after you have it set up, log in to your ooma through a browser using your new phone number and go to account, turn off the premium features option, or you will pay an extra $10 a month. Also, in SLC the baseline tax and fee charges per month are almost $9. That's almost double what other reviews said! Otherwise this is a good service, but know the true price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Used Ooma for years (since we cut the cord)
Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2024
We started using Ooma about 13 or 14 years ago (when we "cut the cord" from land lines) and have never regretted it. When it came time to replace our first unit, we liked it so much we bought another one!

3.0 out of 5 stars Works well enough, but setup was difficult
Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2024
I had to go back and forth between the app and the bluetooth connection to get this to work. Lots of trial and error. Eventually when it was set up, it worked well.
