I've always bought these at xmas discounts after xmas for under 100 new or renewed. These speakers can be thrown, land in some water and make it out alright, not dunking completely for time.
I like to have them linked and spread out and can make fun party speakers for camping or beach parties. I really like that they are durable and largely not impacted by the elements. They are louder and great way to link. The mega is really essential if you want to have loud but the normal boom are good enough for outdoor yoga, or small groups.
