I spent a few extra bucks to buy the Allen & Heath over other options, after much research. I got an Amazon Renewed unit, which was brand-new as far as I can tell, and I saved $80.
This thing just sounds sweet. Everything sounds better than through any other mixer I’ve ever used. The effects are tuned mostly for guitars—and they sound amazing.
I really love the sound quality and versatility of this mixer to do all the various audio stuff I do for fun. The strategically-placed vents seem to keep it from getting as hot as many mixers.
The signal path is a bit confusing, as it is capable of so much, and the main outputs are only xlr, but that’s obviously no big deal.
I’m really happy with this purchase, and I expect it to easily last 25 years at home. It’s one of those purchases where you choose quality, and it’s something that stays with you for a long time.
