We decided to purchase a countertop ice maker after our freezer ice maker broke and could not be repaired. And because we use A LOT of ice - we needed something and buying bagged ice is just too expensive. We bought this particular brand of ice maker as this is the exact one my husband's work uses, and he said it worked great. We've been using this now for about 3 weeks and so far everything is great. (We did purchase the additional warranty just in case). For those who purchase this, here are some things to note. Although this is an ice maker, it is NOT a freezer. It will not store the ice. So you'll want to dump the ice when the bin fills up. Usually it can make ice 3-4 times before the tray fills completely. Another thing you'll notice is that when you first turn it on, the first 2-3 ice dumps, the ice will be smaller. However as the machine cools longer, the cubes get larger, you just have to keep letting it go. We have two large ice bins in our freezer and I can fill both up in just a few hours. Super convenient and works great. Probably one of my favorite purchases to date. If anything changes I'll be sure to come back and update.
