The heating area for the three smaller elements are even smaller!
My previous Induction stove is a GE Profile one ($1400 initial price), it broke in Year 3, paid $700 for repair + insurance, broke again in year 7 (right after the insurance expired), the repairman came, told me that there was no part any more to repair that model, then charged me $270 for his time for null service. So, it was $2300+ for 7 years, for another model.
With that mentality, I was thinking that this stove would be fine as long as it is working. In this regard, it is fine. However, there are one disadvantage another reviewer has ever mentioned in his/her review: the heating element is much smaller than the marked circles (less than %50 in radius, more than %75 less than the marked/promised area). Also, the noise is much bigger than the GE I had. The adjustment in heating intensity is weird: it is not by adjusting the level of heating intensity, instead, it is done by adjusting the time duration the heating element is on or off. Coupled with the high noise of turning it on, it is apparent in audial and visual (the water would be boiling, then not, then boiling again....) signal that the stove is on for 5 seconds, then off for 4 seconds, then to be on again for 5 seconds.... Please someone tell me that mine is defect and repairable, otherwise it is cheating to release a commercial electric product with false marks like this!
I am buying this one because I have been searching for a layout that would offer two larger heating areas at the front for easy access. Am I the only user who would prefer large heating areas at the front, and the smaller heating ones in the back for occasional use? The GE (PHP900) is with a perfect layout for my use, but it is now discontinued. This product is close in its layout to serve my preference, and also close in its cut-out dimensions (initialy cut for GE 30 inch stove), so I can drop it to my current counter-top hole without much difficulty. Yes!, I am mot buying this because it is cheap. The lesson I learned: there is always a reason for something/somebody to be cheap!
A final note to the verdict: somebody else mentions here that it is not USA certified. Radiatoon might be a problem. The readings on my electromagnetic meter is out of chart. I am very scared now.

Well, I'm updating my review because fortunately this company has responded well to my situation. They sent me a completely new stove! Great! It has worked flawlessly the last 2 days, so I guess they and I got unlucky with the first one which was behaving strangely from the beginning. Nonetheless, they had supported me all the way, and that says a lot about at company and I hope it gives confidence to other costumers. I'm very happy. This stove is great and I like that it is compact having 5 burners and all touching sensors controls. It looks amazing at my kitchen.

Customer service has contacted me and they are trying to solve the situation.

After around 15 minutes of use, the upper left burner sensor control gets stuck at level 2. The rest of the burners work while you won't turn them off, otherwise they won't turn back on.
The behavior persists even if the stove is completely turn off and back on.
To get the stove to work again, I have to disconnect it from the wall plug and connect it again, until a few minutes of cooking that the weird behavior arise again.
After a week of trying to contact, one month ago Thermomate reply to me and sent me a new motherboard, which I did appreciate since I know that it's the main part of the whole stove basically.
As an experience engineer it was not complicated to replaced it and apparently the stove started to work fine but, sadly, it didn't resolve the issue, the problem is not gone and it behaves exactly as before.
Although I really like the stove and its format, unfortunately, a situation like this could be a really bad indication of quality and thus deserves a bad review.
I'm not willing to keep this monthly trial and error to try to fix it and after replacing a motherboard it could be anything.
Now it seems that it will be better to through this to the garbage and find another solution to my stove situation.
So be aware that the odds could be against you and get an erratic dysfunctional product as it happened to me.
