I got this range hood to replace one that I always liked. I was very happy to find that this one is just a weeee bit better.
This range hood has easy to remove/replace machine washable vent covers. These are the things that pick up all the bacon grease/etc that collects on the outermost surface.
The adjustable height was sufficient to not need an extension in our kitchen, my old one I had to purchase a second extension to get a couple more inches out of it.
The glass is molded to the stainless frame perfectly, they really feel like they're one system instead of a stainless housing with a glass umbrella around it like some of the cheaper ones I looked at.
The controls are simple to use and not confusing (some are).
I really like that you can recirculate the exhaust. That's actually really good for energy efficiency in the winter. I see a complaint in about having to buy the charcoal filter, but that's clearly stated in the text and media. Some stoves have that as an option, but they're an entirely different stove and alot more money to get than having a hybrid range hood like this.
The stainless is pretty standard looking. Cleans easily with a citrus spray. We have really hard water, so I have found that I need to pull the covers out of the dishwasher and hand dry them to keep them from spotting, but that's our situation, not the fault of the stainless.
At $229 with an available $30 coupon this thing is an absolute steal. It performs above the cheapies and probably a little less (mostly louder) than some that are five times the price.
