    Figured out the light. You hold the button down and it will dim the light so that was user error on my end.

    Additionally, the seller did reach out to address my other concerns to my satisfaction. For the seller to reach out directly says a lot about the seller and they stand behind their product.

    The unit has been working great since we installed the unit. The suction power on this unit is amazing we have only had to use it at full power once due to a spill over in the oven at full power this unit cleared things up quickly.

    We are very pleased with the purchase.

    There is not and option to hard wire this unit. I had to install an outlet in the cabinet which was not a big deal, but the power cord for the unit is in the right front corner so you have to put a pretty big hole in the cabinet right close to the face frame of the cabinet. Would be better if the power cord was closer to the back and closer to the middle of the unit.

    Additionally. The one one I ordered clearly states it black stainless steel with glass. It is not a black stainless on the sides it is just normal stainless steel.

    The unit does look nice after installed expected the sides don’t match my black stainless steel range.

    Others are reporting that it is loud, I don’t think it is to loud especially with the 2 big fans on it. I don’t think most people would be using at more than settings 1 or 2 unless they burn something and really need to get alot of smoke out of the kitchen.

    The description states the lighting is adjuster but I am unable to figure out how that works I only have one or off does not appear to be adjustable.

    If something changes I’ll update this review but this is my initial findings after installing today

    This is a very high quality stainless hood with modern looks and excellent function. The twin fans are powerful and quiet. The remote works perfect and the hand gestures are convenient. When I had questions April was very easy to communicate with and was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful.

    Overall I like the product, it was worth the purchase. It looks good, has plenty of suction, and the lights are bright.

    On the downside, the sensors aren't the greatest. The remote distance is short, and I often have to hit buttons repeatedly, adjusting the aim of the remote until I get a reaction. The touchless "gesturing" system is useless... I cannot get it to work reliably. Simply passing a hand in a wave motion from one sensor to the next does nothing 99% of the time, no matter how close, far, moving slowly or quickly, it does not respond. I can get it to do something if I wave in a circular motion with one hand over each sensor, but I cannot predict if it will speed up or slow down, let alone if it will react. The touch sensors work more reliably at least, I say they work about 97% of the time on first touch; so they also fail to recognize a touch sometimes.

    I'd give the overall product a 6 out of 10 rating.

    This morning I tried the gestures again, and I found the key to making it work. My unit maybe needs a timing adjustment of some sort; I was not moving my hand fast enough before, apparently. When I first tested the unit, I watched video of a guy demonstrating before I tried it and could not get it to work. I tried at several speeds and distances before with no success. Now this morning I waved my hand way faster and closer and to my surprise it worked. So now I know exactly how close my hand has to be and how fast to move it, and it works, but not with a slow wave like the guy demonstrated on the video. It has to be a very fast wave, almost as fast as swinging to hit something. 8 out of 10.

    The fan is powerful and the touch controls are very nice, so the basic functions are solid and make it a nice hood. The strange thing is all the add on functions don't work or are just unusable, the "remote" control only works if you stand right in front of the hood. Some of the timer controls are wierd, but can be used just very wonkey.

    Update: The seller worked with my concerns and I am completely satisfied with the out come. I didnt know that newer homes come with an electrical outlet in the cabinet above the stove. This is a great company that stands behind what they sell and you can't ask for more than that. Highly recommend

    Over my life time, I have installed 5 range hood vents. This was the most difficult. It came wired with a plug which I don't understand. Where do you plug in a vent hood without seeing the cord? So, I hard wired it, the 2 holes already in the vent hood were not large enough for a wire clamp so I had to drill a 1/2 inch hole and that takes a carbide hole saw because of the stainless. Why this weighs as much as it does, idk. Crazy, no reason for the excessive weight. I did install this by myself. I cut a 1x6 60 1/2 inches long and when the vent hood was in place, I wedged the 1x6 on one side of the vent hood. I had to install an electrical box inside the vent hood with double sticky tape for my wiring connections. The lights do a good job of lighting the stove top but are weak and yellow, this is not a living room, this is a kitchen where I need bright light,an option to purchase with the brighter 6000k lights would have been nice. $40 to change two bulbs. Your kidding me right? Finally installed, there is a 1/2 inch gap on both sides of the vent hood. 1st time I have ever seen this on any vent hood. Amazon listing states the fan is ultra quite. True, when the fan is off. On level one, the fan is mildly noisy. Level 4, the noise is very loud. Vent hood does look nice and the remote works well but it's faster to adjust the hood than it is to pick up the remote. No reason for a remote in my opinion. I have never seen a vent hood without fine mesh filtering screens. Time will tell how filthy the inside of the vent hood will become.
