    The product is a convertible range hood, so that it can vent in the front or to an outside duct. I needed inside and this one worked great. Well made, good looking, nice filters, strong motor, and I like the templates that made installation a breeze.

    The COSMO 5U30 30-inch Under Cabinet Range Hood is a fantastic addition to my kitchen! It combines sleek design with powerful performance, quickly clearing smoke, steam, and cooking odors with minimal noise. The LED lights provide good illumination over my cooktop, and the slim profile saves space without sacrificing effectiveness. The only thing I would change is the LED color temperature being warm vice daylight. Installation was straightforward, and the stainless steel finish looks great and is easy to clean. Overall, it's a reliable, efficient, and stylish choice for any kitchen. Highly recommended!

    ...but so did the Broan I installed about 7 years ago, but had issues with from the outset and seemed to be about to vibrate its way into falling the last time it decided to turn on, so we shall see. Installation of Cosmo hood was easy, although template screw holes were off about 1/4“. Plenty of mounting support though as the unit is fairly lightweight. The functionality is very straightforward and the look is quite nice. The LED lights are more for effect than increased illumination. Please note too that instead of a snug fit in 36" opening, you'll end up with about 1/4“ gaps on each end when centered. If it lasts, I'll consider it a great purchase value!

    My stove and range hood of 30+ years (yes, 30+ years!!) needed to be replaced. My search produced this Cosmo range hood (5MU30) and I immediately liked the clean lines and simplicity. The features listed are great as well. It is reasonably priced for the options and look you get with this. The noise level is not bad, even on high! The metal filters are so easy to remove and clean!
    The light is fairly bright, but is concentrated mostly toward the back. Not a deal breaker because I don't normally cook in the dark. LOL I do have a small rechargeable magnetic strip light that I discovered I can attach to the underside of the range hood for more direct light. An Aha! use for that!
    The controls are labeled and super simple to access.
    Installation was slightly tricky since the old unit was hard wired and the hole did not exactly line up. This was not a deal breaker since my installers (sons) are handy!!
    Pro tip (LOL): make sure to take into account the profile of this unit. If it is a replacement, make sure your doors will open the same without hitting the side of the hood if that is important to you. My old unit was sloped in a way that the cabinet door did not hit the side of the hood as it did not protrude as much until a few inches lower. The new unit does not come down as far, is more compact and that is why I hit the door. But the compactness is something I really like, so I can live with it!!!

    The good: Clean, well-packaged, fan works well, stainless steel matches newer appliance well, appears to use good components, buttons are easy to use.

    The not as good: The light is inadequate. I’ve added 2 magnetic LED lights, shown in the picture, to give better light under the hood. The mounting template should have been printed on both sides. As it was, it was nearly useless, as the printed side was against the drilling surface when oriented to match the install. The cord head is a standard three prong. A low profile head would have been a better fit, in most cases.

    Overall, a good purchase. My bride is pleased with the new look and a working fan.

    It looks nice. The light is super bright, but in an awkward location towards the back. Buttons work well, but man this thing is loud! Edges are sharp in spots, so not super well made. Still, going to keep it. I use it over a gas stove and it keeps up well.
