I have had a series of unfortunate experiences with purchasing stove burners. The first one I bought, from a different brand, only had a functional right burner, so I had to return it.

The second one was an induction burner, but we couldn't get it to work. It turns out that it required expensive, high-end cookware with a magnetic base.

Exhausted from these setbacks, I decided to invest in a more expensive third burner. While it has only been used a few times, I am hopeful that it will prove to be reliable.

However, I must mention that the cleanup process is not as effortless as advertised. Despite cleaning it immediately after use, I have difficulty removing all the residue. I intend to purchase a liquid Bar Keepers Friend cleaner, after ensuring its safety for the burner. Additionally, any spills seem to burn onto the burner surface.

Despite these challenges, I am overall pleased with the burner's performance. It features two large burners, precise temperature control, and various other useful functions. I will try to upload a video demonstration later.

My advice to others is not to hesitate in spending a bit more for a quality product. It is far better than dealing with the frustration of multiple returns. This burner even has a convenient lock switch for added safety.

Waste of money. This 2-burner cooktop is all flash, no function. Heating is painfully slow and uneven. Safety features are a joke - my toddler figured out the "child lock" in minutes. Cheap construction, noisy operation. Avoid this overpriced hot plate masquerading as a cooktop.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very nice portable 2 burner, glass range top
Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2024
Okay, I'm impressed. This thing heats up VERY fast. I took a picture of me holding my IR laser thermometer but just know that it had been heating up for a couple seconds when I took the picture and I had not let it heat up all the way. There are two separate controls for each burner. The controls are touch buttons and each burner has an LCD to give you information like the temperature or that the burner is still hot when you turn the burners off. Also, after having the burners on for a while to test it out, I wanted to see how hot the underneath would get to see if that would limit what I put it on and where I put it on. The underside, right after turning off the burner, was actually cool to the touch. It didn't get hot at all on the underneath.

One extra bit of information is that this portable range top is electric and is required to plug into a 3 pronged AC outlet. This thing is a little larger than I had anticipated and has a little more weight than I expected but that's no issue. My only real gripe is the price. I believe it's just a little bit too pricey BUT I would not feel ripped off if I had paid for the product at the current price.

5.0 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY works with cast iron skillets!!!
Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2023
I am a huge cast iron cookware aficionado and so when I was looking through some of the reviews that said this doesn't work with cast iron, I was a bit concerned.

Luckily, I went with my instinct which tells me cast iron should work EXTREMELY WELL with a cooktop like this, and tried it anyway. I can tell you that the people that have reviewed this that say it doesn't work with cast iron skillets are absolutely, without question or hesitation, wrong in every sense of the word.

If you have flat bottom skillets, such as most Lodge skillets, this not only works well, it works VERY well with cast iron cookware. There is, however, ONE kind of cast iron that you can't use with this, and that's the kind with the ridge along the bottom (see image). If your cast iron has this ridge, because the bottom doesn't make contact with the surface, it won't work well if at all. For the record, I own...let's see...7 skillets. Of them all, only this ONE doesn't work. "National" is the brand, and it was made in the 1930's or 1940's. Most of you aren't going to have skillets like this. It's as "vintage" as vintage gets.

All my other cast iron skillets? Work GREAT. So if you have cast iron skillets, ignore the reviews that say they don't work. I promise. They do.

If you're heating up a large volume of water, this does take a little time to get rolling. Smaller to medium quantities are best for this...think, spaghetti, not "clam boil". Where it excels is once the boil happens, you can throttle the wattage back down to 200 or 500 watts and it maintains a really nice simmer. 100 watts is kind of a "keep warm" setting.

I really like this cooktop. It works great on my stainless steel / copper bottom Revereware as well as my entire assortment of cast iron skillets save for 1 lonely outcast. Most of you won't have vintage "National" skillets made almost 100 years ago. Most will have more modern Lodge flat-bottomed skillets which work flawlessly. The negative reviews must be from folks that have some REAL oddball cookware, because I love this with mine, and can definitely affirm that it absolutely works just fine.

5 stars on this all the way, and I suggest the previous reviewers check their cookware and make sure it's flat bottomed...if not, that's not the cooktop's fault.

Love this dual stove top. It has lots of great uses. I use mine for outdoor cooking. It’s really great. I just set it on a safe table (no plastic!) and now I can sautee, make sauces, or make beans or anything else while I’m grilling. It get very hot. You can use this to boil pasta. Just a great device.
