    This gizmo does precisely what it says it will do: sit on a countertop and produce ice quickly. It's fairly quiet. The controls are simple and simple to understand; the capacity is adequate for general household needs. One thing you should know: the ice "cubes" form around bullet-shaped freezing bars, so the ice is hollow. This means it warms up faster than a solid ice cube would melt. That's my only complaint, and its a pretty minor one. I am pleased with this device.

    This ice maker is so worth having. The ice is fast and clean up is easy. The machine is lightweight and easy to move. Simply put water in and turn it on. Six minutes later, ice. It does hum but not too loud. The ice makes more noise dropping. The machine reuses the water if you leave the ice to melt.
    I love my machine and recommend buying it.

    We moved to a new house and sadly there was no waterline for our fridge. Not the biggest deal, but we are really bad about remembering to empty and refill ice trays. I did some research on countertop ice makers and came across this one. It's the perfect size, doesn't make a lot of noise, and it makes enough ice in a good amount of time. The ice melts down into the water reservoir and can be reused.

    A common complaint I saw about this particular model was of mold growing inside the water reservoir and above the area where the ice is made. We've had our ice maker a while, and have done my best to keep it clean. The instructions do not share how to prevent mold, but I figured out that if you remove the two screws under the lifting lid above the ice, you can remove the whole top half of the ice maker to clean out everything carefully.

    It also recommends using the self-cleaning function (holding down the power button until all the lights start flashing) at least once a week, and draining out the water and cleaning it with mild soap regularly. I also add a capful of white vinegar and run the self-cleaning every other week, dump it out, and run the self cleaning again with fresh water and dump that out. It has helped keep any mold issues at bay, and our ice sparkling.

    I hope this helps anyone who is on the fence from the reviews about the mold, and I hope this helps anyone else who is looking into getting this one. As I said, it's fairly quiet, but when the ice drops, it does make a bit of noise. You get used to it pretty quick, but it does spook the cats sometimes, ha ha.

    I got this little machine for my daughter, and she loves it. The size is perfect for a small amount of ice. It makes good amount for personal use. I guess if you need ice for a party, you need to go to the stores and get more. But for an everyday use it is just perfect. I like that it is something separated from the fridge, and the ice water you use is cleaner than using the water line. I would recommend it to anyone.

    Only con is nowhere to keep ice scoop as on other models. I don't like the idea of storing the ice scoop in the basket when not in use. (So just wash your hands before handling the scoop.)

    This works really well. For a larger quantity to fill a big bottle of iced coffee, I just run the ice maker before I take a shower. First round or two of ice is not as solid frozen as the later "cubes". Other reviews say they melt fast, which is true. I tend to drink soft drinks quickly, so I haven't had an issue with it. It is nice to not have to handle ice cube trays anymore. It's pretty quiet and I can't think of it disturbing anything except a dead quiet house trying to let a baby sleep.

    Food and safety inspector said to let air dry frequently to prevent any yeast buildup. So every week or two at the very least I drain it and let it air dry
