Purchased Thor HRE 3601 March 2022, Nice range and oven and “looks” like a quality build. I particularly liked the layout of the range burners with both larger higher power rings in the front right and left with a smaller warming ring in the middle. The issue has been parts and service. The unit was received with some cosmetic damage, I needed the oven, so I just called in the claim and began using the unit. I received a call from Thor to set up an appointment, but I was out of town at the time, I was told to call back when I was ready. Oven broke in September, tried to get a service tech to schedule warranty work as well as the cosmetic fix. We spent a week trying to confirm my original claim…it was never found or approved. We moved on to the fact the the oven wasn’t working. It’s now coming up to December and I’m still waiting for a technician
I’m fairly handy and believe the problem to be the oven burner element. I called the parts department (they are a pretty helpful group) and purchased an element from them directly, the first one was the wrong part but after the second attempt I fixed the problem, and the oven was working.
While I am still waiting for a technician to service the oven it stopped working again in late November. This time it heats to max of 250 degrees. I’m guessing that the issue is the oven thermostat or the probe. Called Service again but also tried to just order the part…not available. Spent the next 8 hours trying to find parts by Manufacturer, OEM or even the individual parts supplier, its just not available in the USA.
This oven is sold on Amazon, available at Lowes and Home Depot and many major appliance retailers, but parts are impossible to obtain. Home Depot, who sells this oven and has a pretty vast parts network could not help me.
I’m not located in the middle of nowhere. The oven is physically located in Cape May, NJ , easy access to NYNY, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington markets. No-one will service this unit and parts are a real issue. I run a small B&B and need a working oven. I am considering just giving up and buying an alternative to put this one at the curb or sell it for parts on eBay.
I will never buy another Thor Kitchen product again. Just got a text from Thor, they are still looking for a service provider with Thor expertise
