3.0 out of 5 stars ❤️ it but I have a question?
Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2024
I purchased this through lowes. I do really like it. We use it a lot. Lg plates do not fit as others have wrote about, but no big deal. It was a pain to install. The instructions were lacking. It just about takes the whole underneath the sink. It seems to wash well after the 6 months we have had it. It was pricey and didn't come with the veggy cleaner or a faucet. Very upset about that!

How do you clean it? It seems to be a dull finish. Child put a fork in it one evening and it got wet. I came home from work and there was a rust stain along with water stains I can not get out. That's crazy. Who drys the sink after every use? Please help as it is kinda thin so I can't repeatedly abrasive like clean it. I'm afraid it will ware a hole in it. Any suggestions?

Ultimately I'm happy with it, but feel like it was to expensive for what I got.

5.0 out of 5 stars After 3 years of owning Fotile DW
Reviewed in the United States on March 8, 2024
3 years ago I wrote a pretty lengthy review after 8 months of using our Fotile. It recently disappeared from Amazon’s reviews of this product. I believe because I had suggested Fotile offer their DW with the sink on either side rather than only on the left (now available) and that they offer the sink with a smaller partition so there could be a smaller sink inside the big sink.

Having had the Fotile DW for 3 years I am following up with another review for anyone considering this unit.

After 3+ years this DW has been fantastic for us. There have been zero issues with any part of the Fotile. It has not needed servicing since it was installed, no leaks, no scratches on any of the finishes or glass top. All the latches and interior parts still look new and work as well as they did when it was installed.
I do empty and clean the ‘gunk trap’ weekly which only requires lifting the inner tray out, twisting the gunk trap, cleaning it and replacing it with a gentle twist and returning the tray inside the unit. Super easy with this DW! Other than that there is no maintenance required or recommended.
We average 1 load per day with one or 2 days of heavier use per week.
We are WFH, 2 person adult household with 1 gourmet cook and one former “get those kids fed now” cook.
The Fotile is great for us. If you have more than 2 people in your household and cook at home you will find yourself doing at least 1 load per day. It is not a big unit but it cleans as well or even better than a full sized DW. Also in the plus column, it cleans great with a small amount of powder DW soap. A pod is overkill on the 20:00 cycle, which btw is the main cycle we use and find our kitchenware perfectly clean. It also has a 45: and 80: cycle. We still have never used the 80: cycle as everything comes out sparkling after 20:
We have used the seafood/veggie wash cycles many times and that has been surprisingly useful with our backyard garden. The normal dish rack lifts out and the rinsing tray goes in to use the veg/seafood wash. Couldn’t be any easier.
A HUGE side benefit is no longer bending, twisting and lifting items out of a cabinet style DW. I don’t have back issues but this one change alone is well worth mentioning. Loading and emptying is the same as moving dishes from the counter to the sink.
This is not a full sized DW. We host family dinner every Sunday for a group of up to 12. Getting all the cookware, plates and tableware clean requires about 3 to 4, 20: loads depending upon the number of guests. So in 1 hour we normally have everything from the table cleaned up. For a household of more than 4 people you will be doing multiple loads every day. This unit is not intended for large families or tall soup pots.
Yes, you will have to lay your Pottery Barn 13” plates at an angle to fit. The Fotile doesn’t accommodate them standing straight up. We just lay them at an angle with smaller items, glass, cups, smaller plates under and around and everything comes out just as clean. It’s not an issue for us but is often mentioned by reviewers.
There is no faucet included but if you are seriously thinking about this DW, like us you probably want one with spray and other features which would leave us with having to dispose of an included one. We added a powerful disposal to the sink with no installment problems.
To summarize, we only have positive comments related to our Fotile. It was a major victory from our kitchen remodel and if/when it ever craps out we will be replacing our current Fotile with another one. It’s been that terrific for us.
