I love this. It was inexpensive, but for what we wanted it's great. I turn it on when I get up in the morning, let it make a couple of batches of ice, and scoop that directly into my iced coffee that I brew just before leaving for work. It's not a sealed hopper, so it will keep your ice cold for some time, but if you want to make a supply of ice to keep on hand, follow the other reviewer's advice and scoop them into a zip-top bag and place in your freezer. They'll be a little damp/wet when you take them out of the ice maker so if you just put them into an ice bin they'll stick together. In a zip top bag, you can just drop the bag gently on the counter to crack them back apart.
As for the noise... I wouldn't want it in my bedroom, but in a kitchen it's perfectly fine. You can hear it when it's doing things (filling, removing ice from freezing unit, dropping ice into hopper) but that seems to be expected. If it's low on water, you can sort of hear it struggling to fill itself to make the next batch; I appreciate this... it lets me know that I need to either fill it, or turn it off. If you want something for a conference room that won't interrupt your Teams meetings, this might not be the item for you. For a kitchen, I think it's great.
