This ice make does what it says it will do, which is no small thing. It does make nugget ice. It's not super quick about it, but it does do it. My two biggest complaints about this are the amount of ice produced and the noise level accompanying that.
The basket on this ice make is fairly small. Combine that with the ice maker shutting off when the basket is about 80% full, and you're left with a 'full' basket that would roughly fill up a single large cup. Because these are small nuggets, they can build up by the ice outlet and tell the maker it's full. I don't really see a way around this, other than leveling out the ice in the maker every once in a while. Not a huge deal, but to fill an ice bin in our freezer (which is what we use this for) takes SEVERAL full baskets from this maker.
The next issue for me is noise. I saw a few complaints on this when ordering, but am used to noisy ice makers so I didn't expect this to be much different. But this is certainly the loudest ice maker I've had. To the point where we turn it off when in the kitchen, and sometimes even when we're in the family room because this little maker is so loud.
It does a fine job, but when this one goes, I'll be looking for a different model when replacing.

The quality of the ice is just like Sonic ice, very nice to crunch on and eat.
The taste of the ice depends on the type on water you put in it. We use purified bottled water.
It is very easy to use. All you need to do is pour the water in it and it’ll do the rest. We do leave it on and it’ll automatically stop when it senses that the ice tray is full.
We have not noticed any leakage at all so far.
The performance of the machine is very nice. The lights on the front let you know when the ice tray is full, when you need to add more water, and when it needs to be cleaned.
Cleaning it is very easy as well.
