I am so glad I picked this one! I looked at all of them and this one really appealed to me. It was a great choice. I read all the comments for all the different ice machines, good and bad when I was trying to decide… which helped me in my decision and I think will help me make my ice machine last for a very long time. I suggest you do that for handy tips. It’s very easy to use. I plug it in and pour about 3/4 of a gallon of distilled water in the well. And it immediately starts making the ice. When I get a glass full or more of ice in the basket, I shake the basket so water sheds off the ice and then put the ice in a gallon freezer bag. The machine is NOT a refrigerator… so the ice will melt if you just leave it in there. So important to bag it as you go and freeze it. When I take the bag out of the freezer to add more ice, I break the ice up in the bag before I add more ice - generally just hitting the bag on the countertop does the trick. Then repeat as I add more ice. That keeps the nuggets of ice broken up. Using distilled water keeps minerals from building up in the machine. The ice is very soft and ice nuggets a perfect size. When it is through making the ice, I unplug the machine, remove the small excess water at the bottom by scooping it out and then dry the inside for storage. No trouble at all. It is so quiet that sometimes I forget I have it running. I bought it as a Mother’s Day gift to myself and I absolutely love it. Highly recommend it.

Please do not buy this machine. No matter how good you take care of the machine it will go out within a year or right after muellers little year warranty. They work great while they last and make good ice but everyone eventually has the same problem they go out and start making screeching noise. And the customer service through mueller will try everything not to send you a new machine and are very rude and unprofessional …the customer service number does not work and they say there number is down and only email as of now for 2 years now …. Customer service messages you a month later and keep you waiting it took months for only a few emails as in will reply to one email a month ……That is the mueller way and tactic to not have to talk to customers who need to complain about the machine…I can’t voice enough to stay away from this machine you will regret it! The good comments on this machine are the ones that are still in the honeymoon phase and haven’t came back to blast them on the below quality machine. My mom and several friends have bought this machine because of mine. Nobody has a working machine anymore and all got the run around with the company… and not one machine made it past a year and a half…. Go ahead buy one and think this is the mad customer review and you will regret it in the end as we all have from a expensive hunk of junk that they don’t back!

I have had my Mueller nugget ice maker for about a year now. It is exactly what I was wanting. It is easy to fill and clean and makes plenty of ice for me to keep my Stanley cups full of ice cold water. And I drink a lot of water! I no longer need to go buy bags of sonic ice and this is even better in the summer when those bags would melt by the time I got home. You can make ice and put it in a container to store if you need more but I’ve never had to do that since it continuously makes plenty for me.
I have found it to be quiet and only notice any noise at all every now and then. I fill mine with filtered water and it tastes great.

I loved this ice maker and it worked great for two years. I think the water pump has gone out by following the trouble shooting guide. I called the support line repeatedly and it says no one is available to take your call. I emailed and have not gotten any response. So much for customer service.

Amendment: they did email me back with suggestions
Which I already had done. Warranty was good for one year and they did not have replacement pump so they gave me the option to order another one with a discount. I have done that and in the meantime will see if I can find a replacement pump for the 2 year old one and see if I can get it repaired.
So …. As review said, love the product while it lasts. If it lasts longer than it is a 5 star for sure. Great , quiet and love the ice .

This Mueller Nugget Ice Maker is the greatest! I had purchased a couple of 100-120 dollar ice makes, they broke down in less than a year, the ice melted inside the machine and was very wet whenever you went to scoop some. After the 2nd one broke down, I upgraded to the Mueller! It makes ice in smaller pellets, still substantial size, and it works like a charm. This comes with easy to clean instructions, you use household items, nothing special to buy. The ice melts slowly inside the machine. At night I fill up drink bottles with ice and turn the machine off. Then I unplug for the night, 7-8 hours later there is still ice available! Great to have on a kitchen counter, a boat/yacht, a picnic place that offers electricity. The extra money is worth the quality and dependability!
