5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value. Induction seems to be the future!

In what seemed like a fluke, the first of this cooktop to arrive was non-functional, despite fully wiring and checking voltage to both legs and continuity of ground. Long story short, the seller and Amazon were very responsive, and a functioning replacement was sent immediately.

We have since enjoyed the continuous glass of this cooktop with touch controls. Our previous cooktop was a radiant glass cooktop with dials that got in the way of cleaning. It is also worth mentioning that the replacement for our exact model of cooktop would have been $1800 (which did have downdraft fan), while this one was under $300. It was well worth the risk to try induction for this price.

As far as function, I've been generally happy with how quickly the pans heat up compared to the radiant cooktop. We use mostly cast iron, but also an enameled steel tea kettle. The weight of the cast iron takes a little longer to heat and cool than the thinner steel, but it's impressive how the pan immediately warms, much like a gas cooktop. I have noticed that the largest center "burner" doesn't seem to heat the entire pan evenly, as a rolling boil tends to be toward the edge of the large enameled cast iron pot we have. This may be a cast iron thing, as it doesn't conduct heat as well as a layered copper or steel would.
We also chose to buy one of the available silicone mats that help protect the glass from scratches, and since it's induction, silicon or not the cooktop is much easier to clean. Nothing burns onto the surface.
The timer feature is great, and it's possible to set a pan to cook for a predetermined time before shutting down. The locking feature is also handy, and avoids accidental button presses while cleaning. Further, the cooktop detects whether a pan is present and won't attempt to "heat nothing", even if a button is accidentally pressed. I'm particularly happy about the safety features, as our son badly burned his forearms as a child on our previous radiant cooktop (hot burner), but on this cooktop it likely would not have been an emergency room visit. Surface temperatures are much lower than radiant after cooking, and it cools faster, since the source of the heat is the pan itself and not the radiant element below the glass.

Installation was easy once the countertop was made ready. In fact, after installing the first cooktop that had to be returned, the replacement took only about 10 minutes to drop in and wire up with the factory electrical whip. Perhaps the best part of this particular cooktop as a replacement to existing electric cooktops is the 10ga wire and 30a circuit required. This was equal to our existing electrical, so it didn't require expensive upgrades.

We have noticed that power level 4 seems to be slightly harder to "find" on the slider, but it's a minor complaint. There is also a noticeable fan noise not present in gas or radiant cooktops. I would say it's quieter than most microwaves and similar to the fan on our oven--not a big deal to us, but worth mentioning. It can also cause some minor buzzing, considered normal by the manufacturer. None of the sounds are obtrusive in my opinion, and they would be hardly noticeable over a conversation or a sizzling skillet.

As long as it lasts a long time as expected, this is still a five-star product.

Pros: Low cost, continuous glass surface, quick heating and temperature adjustment, lower surface temperatures after cooking, extra safety features compared to radiant/gas.
Cons: Potentially uneven heating, limited to induction ready cookware (obviously), minor noises.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, functional, stylish

UPDATE 2: Seller is great in communicating through the issue, and after submitting pictures showing the crack, they sent another as replacement. Month gone by and new top performing awesomely. So keeping the 5 star rating, as don't see this as negative at all. If anything, it's an affirmation of a 5 star product backed by a 5 star seller, and that's as important as if it were flawless.

Update: Week after this 5 star review, glass top cracked. Contacted seller, let's see how they respond. Keeping stars for now, and update on resolution later...

Simple in design, functional in use, stylish in form, this cooktop hits all my marks. Two months of daily use and still looking new. So quality of material and workmanship definitely there.

Heating diameters pretty much match the spec rings, and power delivery on mark with spec rating too (based on my real time power app for root top solar). Heat up is fast, even big pot of soup takes minutes on high (power 7/8/9/boost). Rice takes <3min on 8 to boil then 15min on 1 to simmer. Most pan fries 4-8min.

Operation is simple too: main power on, select cooktop and set power level. While cooking, can also set timer in minute increments, even change power level while in count down. There is keep warm button, though I just use level 1 far more often.

Clean up is as easy as wipe with damp cloth. Everything comes off and glass top sparkling again.

No complaint, just a wish list: 1) Option to disable lock, so no accidental locking and wonder why no work; 2) Double tap/long press to main power on, so no accidental on/off during cleaning; 3) Option to power off cooktop when timer ends, so can set and forget about it.

Overall most happy user of this 24inch 3cooktop design with 1 big ring for big pot and pan (rare find among the typical 2/4 rings).

4.0 out of 5 stars quality checks from factory

Ordered this because liked the 3 burner layout the most. Was skeptical of unit because of the low price since most induction cooktops are close to $1000 for bosh,lg and other brand names . Received unit and no damage from shipping. Hooked up wiring correctly to 220 v. Tried unit before installing in countertop cut out. Both left side burners did not work, could not even get the lights to light up on control panel. However the large right side burner worked perfectly with no issues. Lights worked on control panel and it would notify you if pan was not correct size or not centered on burner. Disappointed for sure, at least amazon worked flawessly and issued a return and money back no problems! Buyer beware is the thoughts on this. Company that builds these should maybe have more quality checks on units before they ship out.

Update, the company or distributor of this product reached out to me and offered to send out another unit and I agreed since I did like the layout of this cooktop. Received new cooktop in 3 days and this unit does work fine. I have only hooked up unit to check for operation at this time and have not installed unit in countertop yet due to time constraints. Will do a more Indepth review after I have cooked and used unit for a while. This will be my first experience with a induction type cooktop.

This product is a joke I bought it a month ago and I just put it on because I didn't have a finished kitchen, at first it seemed very cool but this device has problems because the touch panel once works once no and so every time when I want to reduce the power does not work, when something cooks sometimes works normally and at the next cooking the touch panel goes crazy, it's a waste of time and money for this garbage
