4.0 out of 5 stars Empava functions well, but..
Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2021
What would have been really nice to have is a much more detailed instruction Manual to go with the Empava oven. So far I would give the oven high marks as far as functions go, they work as expected-oven really looks nice and was not hard to install. Now the instructions-since never have owned a convection oven, I have to rely on instructions on how to use. It would be nice to know for instance that when oven is used for lets say 30 minutes on 350 or so and then is cut off, the cooling fans come on after the oven is cut off and run for quite a while. It was a problem because I was thinking it was still in on mode because it takes a while to cool down..found out on the internet that is normal for convection ovens.

On the conventional oven this one replaced, bake mode means the bottom element rotates with the top broil element, on the Empava this is also true in conventional bake mode but in convection bake mode the top broil unit does not come on..its a little weird to me because in the convection roast mode thats exactly how it works. So, if your expecting the same cooking results when using convection bake as you would with conventional bake, you won't. Now what 'true convection roast' mode is completely escapes me because I haven't been able to detect the top broiler unit come on, its like the fan operates but the heat is coming from the bake unit only-?? (Editing on the 'true convection roast' part..its now 2022 and after using many times the top unit does come on, the true convection roast -symbol with 3 pointed blocks at top, fan in middle and bar at bottom-means the entire unit around the sides and in middle come on as the flashing symbol indicates when pressed. The convection roast symbol has a bar at top and bottom with a fan in the middle meaning the top element heats around the sides, not in the middle.)

I'm slowly working through operation by trial and error, I think the Empava is good value and good build but I would say a person is going to have to learn how to cook with it on their own and find info elsewhere as I have done on the internet and with the Cosmo oven instructions that I have at another location. Also if you are like me and haven't used convection before, stick with the conventional bake mode until you read up on how convection cooking is used..otherwise you'll end up with disappointing dry chicken too tough too eat. I say 'Better instructions Empava!'

We are remodeling our kitchen and replaced the oven with this Empava 24” convection oven.
Pros: It is sleek and modern looking. It is very affordable for a convection wall oven, which was a non-negotiable for me. It is available in white. I’m not a fan of the stainless steel trend. It also has a built-in rotisserie! Which I didn’t realize until it arrived. Installation was easy because we were simply replacing our old wall oven. If you are switching from a range to a separate wall oven and cooktop, call an electrician. They each require their own 220v connections.

Cons: It is NOT self-cleaning! I never even thought an oven with so many features would not be self-cleaning. There is a learning curve and you will need to keep the owner’s manual handy. You have a limited range of temperatures within each setting, which I am not used to. For instance, the bake setting has a maximum temperature setting of 357 degrees farenheit. Muffins typically call for 400 degrees, and we make muffins regularly. But we baked a batch at 357 and they baked just fine. I think it gets a little hotter than my old oven and I think as I use it more, I will use other settings that I didn’t have on my old oven. Again, there is a learning curve.

Overall, for the price, I would probably make this purchase again as it is one-third of the price of the typical American brands of convection wall ovens with comparable features. Also, not many ovens are available in the 24” size. Everything I have cooked in it so far, has turned out fine Despite having to adjust cooking temperatures.

4.0 out of 5 stars Small modern looking oven
Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2021
Delivered early! But there were a couple dents in the top and side that caused the door to sit slightly askew, but didnt affect functionality. Chose not to deal with the hassle of returning it. As with other reviews I've read, it took 15 min to preheat. I opened door quickly to place dish in and the temp dropped by 25 degrees. It cooked very fast on convection bake though. There is also a 4 inch gap between the top of the oven and my cabinet that we plan to cover just for aesthetic appeal. It is a small oven but very modern looking with the stainless steel. So far I like it but will update more as I continue to use.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a fan

We purchased this about 2 years ago as an impulse bc our oven died a few weeks before Thanksgiving and this was the fastest way to get this. It was different and was kinda hard to cook with but we figured it was new and different and we needed to learn. After 2 years I'm not a fan and it feels like a big mistake. We have to put the temp up about 10 degrees higher than what we need bc it never seems to stay at the same temp. Also when you open the door, it drops 10 to 20 degrees almost instantly and takes forever to get back where it was. It also takes about 20 mins to even warm up. We are not really happy with this but will have to make do bc its too expensive to just replace.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst purchase I ever made.

The oven takes a long time to heat, it doesn't maintain temperature when it finally hits its target, and it is very difficult to use. It will always use the last timer value you entered and can't cook without a timer.
Avoid this oven!
[UPDATE] After 4 Months, one morning we walked in and found that the oven had turned itself on during the night. The controls were blinking on and off and we could not turn off the oven. We had to turn off the power at the breaker!
PLEASE AVOID THIS OVEN!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Difficulty understanding manual'
Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2019
I like the fact that it bakes very good, I don't like the fact that it seems to take a long time for the oven to get up to the temperature very fast. The manual doesn't explain the directions so I can understand them. I don't know how to get the light on when I need it, When I start my oven the light comes on and shuts off about 2 minutes after that. I would like to be able to to send the timer after The oven gets up to proper temp, but if I don't put some numbers in the timer , my oven shuts off. I just don't know what to do about these problems. I am sure I wold really like the oven if I could make it function properly. Thank for listening!
