This ice maker comes with clear instructions, and is easy to use!
You simply pour 6 cups of water (48 ounces) into the main reservoir (which is wide open, super easy to pour in using a large cup or pitcher, etc). You would not want to hold the whole machine up to put it under a faucet to fill up. Once the water is in, you push the power button and let it go! It defaults to the "larger ice cubes" which are the size of a thimble for the pinky finger (hollow inside, 1/4" thick all the way around including the dome of the ice cube. CUTE!
It made enough in 2 hours for us to put as much ice as we desired into our 2 water bottles.. Every 8 minutes like clockwork another 9 cubes were made. It makes a small gentle sound at each of those timepoints which we like because its really fun to watch through the front icemaker window when that happens. It entertained us for at least 5 cycles! Lol.
The ambient blue light that is automatic (unless turned off) is pretty and we enjoyed it.
It automatically turns off the ice making once the water is out or the ice cube basket is full, but stays cold so that the ice cubes sitting inside of it in the tray stay frozen. If you turn the power off, everything will thaw.
You can open the unit and take the basket out to use your ice cubes (dump them off into something) and the basket is really easy to lift out. OR you can use the scoop to get ice out which took longer and so we just lifted the backet out. You can do this while the machine is still in the process, and making more ice. Thats nice!
Our ONLY issue is counter space :)
Love this machine. Does a great job producing small cute mushroom ice cubes. Would not be able to keep up with a dinner party, where lots are needed at once unless you had a batch already made and then had it running during too..

Within the first 20 minutes after plugin it in it was spitting out ice. Filled the container in under a hour. I tossed the first batch as it starts out making thinner ice that gets more solid as it works. Refilled the tank and let it fill up again. It's not pebble ice but the little bullets that comes out are easy to chew. It will do half the water in the tank before it bin full error comes up and you have to move the ice from the back of the unit. Once the ice is full or the water empties, the machine turns off, so the ice will begin to melt as the refrigerant is no longer running. Not really a issue as most of the family is pulling from it several times a day. I have found that overnight you will wake to almost all the ice will have melted together as the cooler turns off and on a few times. It's a bit loud when it gets ready to eject, but you get used to it pretty quickly.

I recently purchased this ice maker. It is an attractive unit that produces ice quickly. Unfortunately, it does not hold the ice well, and the ice does not freeze hard. I am forgetful about refilling ice trays, so this is a nice addition to my kitchen. I wish, however, that it would store the ice better so that I would not have to turn it on when I need ice.

This portable ice-making machine measures approximately 14 inches deep by 8 inches wide by 12 inches tall , and holds 6.25 cups of water when filled to the max fill line. That amount of reservoir space means less time spent refilling the water when making ice. The basket to catch the cubes will easily hold two to three cups of ice (or more). This ice maker has some really nice extras. The included scoop can be attached to the inside of the lid for easy storage and accessibility. There's also a front 'window' on the ice maker so I can see how much ice is in the basket without having to open the lid. It also sports a drain on the side to empty the excess water when I've finished making ice.
I tested the drain at the outset, and was impressed that it got all the water out. It takes about 6 - 8 minutes for each set of 9 ice cubes to form and spill into the basket. I plan to use this ice maker at my flea market booth to sell ice to customers all summer.

This looks great and doesn't take up a lot of room on the counter top. That also means that it doesn't store a whole lot of ice, so the size should probably be your biggest consideration -- there are definitely units out there that will hold a lot more ice but take up a lot more space.

The ice generates quickly, and the window is convenient (although It seems like the window should be on the top instead of the front side). The self clean feature seems to work well.

I love this ice maker! It is easy to get up and running, and makes ice FAST! Our freezer's icemaker broke, and until we get it fixed, this ice maker is the best! I just started using it today, and have already filled 3 gallon bags with ice for the freezer. No more buying ice at the store, yeah. This is a very good product, and I can highly recommend it. The large ice cubes are about 1" long, and they all have holes in the middle. It has a pleasant blue light when it is on and working. You can easily see in the front clear panel and watch the ice being made.
