Buyer beware: if you think you are getting a beautiful wall oven that will be fully inset and flush-mounted to your wall oven tower like those made by high-end brands like Miele… guess again! This oven sticks out in an awkward way from the cabinetry. And that’s after my cabinet maker followed the guide and specs to the letter. GE’s photos do not show that! They post misleading images that look like this oven is sleek and fully inset so that it’s flush with the face of the cabinetry when installed. The first two photos show how it really looks from the side. The third photo is from GE’s video. Compare. So when you see those fabulous modern kitchens in the magazines with flush-mounted wall ovens…well, this AIN’T it! I definitely expected more form+function from GE. Or how about a little transparency, like saying, THIS OVEN WILL PROTRUDE FROM THE CABINETRY AND WON’T HAVE THAT CLEAN, FLUSH APPEARANCE DESPITE HOW IT LOOKS IN OUR IMAGES. Also, GE told my cabinet maker that if he tries to do a “work-around” to fully inset the oven into the cabinet, it will void the warranty.
