The digital controls adjust the heat very precisely so the cooking is much more efficient and much less burned food at bottom of pots. I am able to put each heating element on timer and able to do other tasks while I am cooking: true multi-tasking! I am not worried about open combustion taking place in my kitchen, and I find I use the exhaust fan much less frequently. Jessier unit makes no noise at all.
The only recommendation is when you buy get the 3 year extended warranty for about $50 this reason; purchase cost 300 + 200 installation= 500 investment. 50 additional for warranty is minimal for the piece of mind.
