I bought two of these freezers when my big upright freezer failed. These freezers were surprisingly low cost and light so I could easily put them in the house all by myself. They are quiet and work perfectly. They look good and I see no low quality workmanship. After 2 1/3 years of use, they are still working perfectly.

The good:
- Cheap, relatively quick delivery
- Amazon-backed
- 2 baskets and ice scraper come with purchase
- Pretty large interior
- Dial for temperature, from Min to Max only though

The bad:
- Slightly noisy when "on" (but may be due to shipping issue below)
- Energy star rating is the highest of other similar units
- Severe packaging and shipping issues: arrived heavily damaged directly to the brains of the operation. Packaging included about 3/8" fun at the top and bottom in full layers, and vertically at each corner for a few inches. Insufficient. Appears to have been dropped right on the corner. Good news is, I bought extended warranty but Amazon completely refunded to a gift card so I could re purchase. They said don't return, dispose of damaged unit or keep, my decision.

It did have a small ding on the side, but works perfectly
They did not deliver to PR but for the price I ordered it to the US right before moving and sent it with with the movers. So glad I did. It is awesome. And got it for the price of a small one.

This review is for the KTCF195 7.0 Cubic Foot model. The freezer arrived quickly and with no noticeable damage. Shipping container was fairly sturdy while keeping the size of the shipping box small. Padding was adequate for the purpose, but rough handling or an inattentive forklift operator could defeat the protection of the shipping container.

The freezer is light for the size and this is overall a good thing. It makes it super easy for one person to move the freezer while empty. A reasonably strong person can carry this 7.0 cu ft freezer up or down a flight of stairs with only a moderate amount of gentle encouragement by the lady of the house. Don't attempt to move while full. The light construction will not be your ally when pushing and pulling a fully loaded freezer across your floor.

Once stationed and connected to a standard 120V wall receptacle, a frost appeared on the interior walls within a few minutes. The freezer was loaded with already frozen food from the overstuffed main fridge and experienced no issues. It warmed up slightly as the food from the main fridge freezer section is not a cold as the deep freeze max cold setting. Overnight the freezer cooled down to the set temperature. At max cooling items such as ice cream are frozen solid and require a little bit of time to warm up to soften.
This is desirable as the colder termps will keep items fresh longer.

After filling the freezer to the brim with various frozen items fresh from the market, the freezer has taken a while to freeze fresh meats in the rack. Items deeper in the freezer and closer to the sides have frozen solid. I would consider the rack as a great place to chill something that you might not want to freeze solid, but I'm sure if you leave something on the rack long enough it will also freeze, but maybe at a slightly higher temp than something deep down in the deep freeze.

The compressor can't be heard from a few feet away. The freeze turned on automatically with no need to push a button. Other reviews mentioned a need for manual intervention to turn the freezer on after a power outage, but the model I received does not have this limitation. If the freezer doesn't automatically start up after a power outage that could be a problem if the freezer is out of sight / out of mind, but again the model I'm reviewing starts up as soon as plugged into an active outlet.

Very happy the freezer for the price. Wife is happy that the main fridge freezer section is not so full that opening the door is a danger to bare feet (something frozen falling on your toes). Would buy again.

I look back. Only thing I did wrong, because I used to install appliances, is that I did not take my magnifying glass and read EVERYTHING. There was nothing in the body of the add to suggest a garage is an inappropriate space under 55 degrees unheated. Well... I live in Michigan.

Unless I'm hallucinating it says garage and basement...cabin, too... with the word "IDEAL"
I live in a heated cabin with a wood stove in the shed (heat optional).

I looked for SAFETY flags in the booklet, set it aside and hooked up. Here's a tip for all. Wait a day or two after placing freezer before turning it on. Has to do with the coolant being settled after moving. Can cause problems.

Coincidence. Installed during a two-day heat wave 50 degrees. Back to normal temps Got to reading the manual 3 days later. 20-30 degrees.

That's when I discovered (in the fine print) that this compressor will not work below 55 degrees.
That's when I discovered a freezer full of thawed venison. Very unhappy.

Went back to fine print. Yadda, yadda. Customer pays for return shipping.
Have you ever returned an internet appliance? If not, can you spell HASSLE?

See above where it says basement? I got one of those in the cabin. 60 degrees year-round. I've been wanting to add a circuit down there, it's winter, got time to do it.
Ya' see, adding a circuit and making a place for it....is less hassle than a return. IMHO. Be done with it tomorrow.

I should absolutely return this freezer. Heartache on top of the loss of venison (Processing $200). However, the product itself hasn't had a chance.

I said I installed appliances...there are certain things that are stressed. Both the working environment and the return costs were presented in the lit...and stressed.

False advertising? Maybe not.... Misleading omissions? Definite...shame, shame. Best be hoping your product is better than your advertising. Might hear from me again.
