I've only had this for a couple weeks, and so far nothing negative. This machine rocks as follows:
-Love the stainless steel, sleek design. Matches everything in my kitchen. Machine is taller than I realized, so be sure you've factored in spacing required for going under cabinets in kitchen, or put in open space with nothing above it. Mine fits comfortably under a cabinet.
-Performs as expected. Inside stays clean. We use purified water only for ice cubes, which reduces and even eliminates staining. No smell inside or out.
-Super easy to start and stop. You're only going to be using the start and select buttons. That's it. Easy to clean and wipe down. Water resistant.
-Not super loud. Pretty minimal IMO.
-Creates ice pretty quick but allow it to go through several cycles of you want more ice.
-To prevent ice from melting once dispensed in basket, I scoop it out immediately and put it in a Ziploc freezer bag. Each time ice is dispensed I do it again. Pull the bag out of the freezer and repeat process...scoop ice in, seal and put back in freezer. This way we have a whole gallon size bag full of ice in the freezer ready to be used that same day or next day. This does mean you'd have to be on standby, but I love doing it this way. Ice generally doesn't freeze together either making it difficult to break apart once in freezer. When I put the full bag of ice in my freezer, I lay it flat so there's no ice clumps. Easy peasy.
The only negative thing IMO is that this product doesn't come with a magnetic strip or fixture of some kind to be able to keep the white scoop stored on the side when not in use. Not a deal breaker, though...my husband and I plan on investing in one just to keep the scooper off the counter. I usually sit it on top of the machine where the window is. Still a 5 star product.
