3.0 out of 5 stars i like this app

I had an app similar to this on our touches. I was so excited to find this one for the fire. We use our own spelling words and we use a set of headphones that has a microphone on it. Get a Alida at anystore. I do not understand why people who reviewed this app poorly did not get one. I am very happy with the app. My kids are too. They like the timed tests and the points. They try to beat their time every day.

5.0 out of 5 stars very good

I think think this is a very good app for kids or even grown up that have trouble spelling. But I do have to say that if you want to add words to the list that will be a problem

1.0 out of 5 stars Not good for practicing weekly lists

I was not able to upload my child's weekly list for practice. Because of that the program did not work for what we needed.

2.0 out of 5 stars not user friendly for specific lists or kindle fire
Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2011
I'm making a spelling list for my son and I can't add words because the kindle fire doesn't have a mic and you HAVE to record a pronunciation for it to save. searching for each word is a pain.

4.0 out of 5 stars A+ Spelling

This app was a little difficult to figure out at first. I had to add a lot of the spelling words that my step son has for spelling this week. I do not like haveing to record myself saying the words, but I also downloaded a different app that has a computer generated voice that does not pronounce some words correctly. It is still a good app to have and would recommend it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Can't add our own words
Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2013
Maybe there is a way to add your own word list, but I didn't see it when my daughter bought this app. She thought it would be a way to help her study her spelling words each week...it's not useful to us without this option.

1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work AT ALL
Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2014
My daughter has a Kindle Fire 7 HD, and this app doesn't work at all, in that none of the tests actually work, and when trying to create a new word list, you can't add any words (the check box won't check) for either the stock words or ones you record yourself. I can't find a way to ask for a refund - I feel completely ripped off.

1.0 out of 5 stars worst spelling app ever! (don't buy it)
Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2013
You can't even type in your on words. When you set up all your words it doesn't even save them. They give you 100 words! How is a kid suppose to know 100 words.
