Product description

NOTE: for help contact me using the "Contact Developer" on the amazon site.
If the LED is flashing on your device it's not connected - you MUST use the manufacturer's app to connect it to your wifi. If it's connected (no longer flashing) and still not found, try assigning it a reserved IP in your router's DHCP utility. Then use "find manually" and your device will be found and controllable in AutomatedHome.

Use this simple app to control your IoT devices while you are connected to your home WiFi. It includes widgets that you can add to your phone or tablet's home screen for single touch control as well as scenes for single touch control of multiple devices.

This is not the official manufacturer app. It is much, much smaller, starts faster, and works around may of the official app shortcomings.

Unfortunately you must use the official apps to connect your devices to your WIFI network the first time. Only they can provide direct remote access using their proprietary web servers. You can continue to use them app to manage your switches remotely and set up automation as needed, the apps do not collide.

The built in "Finding" functions can be used to find and confirm your devices are working even when the manufacturers app cannot find them.

Supports:
- WeMo: Dimmer, Motion, Switch, Mini, Insight, LightSwitch, Maker, crockpot, air purifier, room heater, coffee maker, link and bulbs (on/off only)
- TP Link Kasa switches and bulbs
- LFIX bulbs
- OSRAM Lightify gateway and devices
- YeeLight Bulbs

AutomatedHome comes with the following:
- AutomatedHome app to monitor and control your devices
- AutomatedScenes for single touch control of multiple devices (e.g. "Watch a movie", "All on", "All off")
- Device, Switch, and Scene widgets to monitor and control any device with a single
touch of your phone/tablet home screen
- Log - record of what changed and when (while AutomatedHome is connected)

Note I did not design nor do I promote manufacturer products. If you are unhappy with their apps or products please review them accordingly. AutomatedHome is a separate product intended to help you SECURELY use your devices.

Use AutomatedHome to reduce your home network security risks. IoT apps communicate with your devices through your firewall. They will access a service on your Alexa account and collect your personal information. Your email, amazon account, IP address, GPS location (home address), SSID, and wifi password will be made available to the cloud owners through their IoT device service.

AutomatedHome is 100% local to your wifi. No outside connections are required. No personal information is collected. It does not rely on the manufacturer cloud servers nor the connection between them and the Alexa service. It will continue to work when those services are offline or your internet connection is down.

Giving 3 stars as I could not get this to work with my Amazon Echo without a smart phone. Could not get an app with my PC or Kindle as it sounded like you should be able to do in the description. Could be me as I am new to this technology?

I have 4 wall plugin switches. Only one is recognized by my Alexa dot. Alexa has only recognized one of the switches as well as the WeMo app. I have even plugged the switches in next to each other and still only recognized one. The devices do NOT impress me much. I even installed a wall switch, WeMo did not recognize it either. Until the developers get their programming done properly, DO NOT waste your $$ in these devices...

4.0 out of 5 stars Fire version of Kasa app
Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2017
I have the Kasa app on my Samsung S5 smartphone that I use to control my TP Link smart plugs using WiFi on my home network. I wanted my Fire to do the same and WeMoHome not only does that but it easily searched out the existing devices on my home network. I was controlling everything in less than 5 minutes because everything on my home network had already been configured with my Kasa app. I do not believe the WeMoHome can configure TP Link smart devices and the same is true for WeMo brand smart devices which require the standard WeMo app (not WeMoHome) to configure their devices to your home network.
I also have the Amazon Alexa app on my Fire that I use to control my TP Link smart plugs using voice recognition but once again, they were configured first using my Kasa app. I purchased my Fire Tablet in the Summer of 2016 during Amazon Days sale for $33. I give this date because people giving negative reviews may not only be failing because their devices have not yet been configured to their home network but they may be using an older Fire Tablet that doesn't have the capacity to run WeMoHome effectively. If you purchase a Fire Tablet after the date of this review then you should be able to manually control both WeMo and TP Link smart devices with WeMoHome but you cannot configure them using this app. You need the specific app for your specific brand of smart device to configure them. After that even the Alexa app can control them using voice recognition. If you don't understand WiFi technology then don't blame this or any other app for your shortcomings, get help configuring your home network and even you can easily use this app.

This app operates the Wemo maker device perfectly. The Belkin Wemo app doesn't. I wonder if that's why Belkin discontinued the Maker device?

I paid for this to use a WeMo switch. Can't download the actual WeMo app on a Kindle Fire. Useless. Can't use IFTT or even manage remotely, as with the real WeMo app. If I am wrong, please tell me how I can do this, and I will adjust my review accordingly. Until then, I wish I could give it a 0 rating.

4.0 out of 5 stars Addresses app gap on kindle fire. Works great!
Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2018
This worked great on my kindle fire to control TP Link bulbs, and it also automatically found the Belkin wemo devices in my home. Given neither company have an app on the kindle app store, and I want to control my bedroom lights while reading on my kindle in bed, this fixes the failure of the big brands to support kindle. App is basically self configuring if you have everything working already. Amazing, and worth the money!

Thanks for developing this app.
