5.0 out of 5 stars fun and educational

This app is a fun way for my children to practice their math facts as well as alphabet. The game allows for different players and the level of difficulty can be adjusted for each player. It also allows you to monitor the progress of each player - how many they got right, what level they played and when they did it. You can play three different games - a calculation, tables and then bubbles. The developers have done a great job of making it very customizable to each player. The calculations section has four levels - easy, medium, hard and expert. Within these you can further decide whether to focus on addition, subtraction, multiplication or division or any combination of the four. You further choose whether the answers will be multiple choice or fill in.
In tables it is the old multiplication tables and you can choose whether to focus on just the 9s or the 12s or any combination of numbers from 1 to 12. Again, you can view the players history to see how they have done.
Bubbles are my children's and my favorite part. In bubbles you choose again between four levels of difficulty. You can then choose between numbers, alphabet, Roman numerals and multiplication. The goal is to touch the bubbles in the correct ascending order. The girls love this part. My only request would be to add division as a choice.
This is a really well written app and we really enjoy it.

the game works beautifully. easy to use. I really only found two flaws.
1) only one player and you can only change the name in the options menu
2) it is very quick and easy for a child to buy another game. it's a button on the front page. then, the screen comes up with an ad for the game that has a buy now button as big as day on the bottom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great math app - many different skill levels to challenge anyone from age 4 and up

This is a great Math App. I found it for free during my free trial for Amazon Freetime Unlimited. Once my trial ended, I liked the app so much I bought it.

I bought my 7 year old a Kindle Fire and wanted to find a good math app for it. I tried many different apps. Some were too gamey, some were to basic, some were too advanced, some lacked a timer or scoring option. AB Math is perfect for my son, has features that even my younger children can benefit from, and even has challenging levels for me.

Many of the app's games run on an 80 second timer, which I think is just about perfect--not too long, not too short. One of the app's features allows you to practice addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division. And you can do any one of these features, or 2, or 3, or 4, and you can choose easy, medium, or difficult settings. This gives great feedback to the parent. For example, if your kid has truly mastered the easy setting, he should be able to get 20 to 30 right. That means it's time to increase the difficulty or to work on something else.

I also really like the multiplication portion of the app. In about 2 weeks, my son went from knowing no multiplication, to having nearly mastered the multiplication table. In this app, you can choose which times tables you want to work on. So you can choose just 2s, or 2s and 5s, or 2s, 5s, and 10s, or 2s, 3s, 4s, and 5s, or all of them. It's much better and more fun than flash cards.

My younger kids also like the "bubbles" game which, at its easiest setting, has four floating bubbles with different numbers. Tap the smallest number and go as fast as you can. My 4 year old and 5 year old like this. And the bubbles game also has different levels of difficulty and variations, such as ordering letters or roman numerals.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Learning Tool

This is a great app. Ever since I was in the second grade, I have loved mathematics and arithmetic. I have realized however that I have let this go in my early 20s. Not being forced to take math courses like I was in K-12 really can show, and although I am not an invalid, playing around on this app I realize I am not as quick as I used to be.

What I like:
I like that there are different levels of difficulty that you can choose from. The options are clear, you can get playing right away. categories are easy, medium, hard and expert. There are also different categories to play in so it doesn't get boring or redundant. These categories are calculations, bubbles and tables. You also have the choice to operate with the timer or not.

What I don't care for so much:
No real way to keep track of each time played so you can compete against previous scores in each category. I also don't care for the facebook inclusion, but someone younger may want to share this with their friends on the web.

This is a great app that concentrates on reinforcing basic calculations and keeping these skills sharp. This would be an advantageous educational tool for young people, as well as those who care to keep their minds sharp.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great and FUN resource

This is a great game and learning app. I downloaded it and let my 3rd grader, who is just learning multiplication and division, give it a try. It was a solid 45 minutes before she was willing to give my tablet back! She really enjoyed it and said it reminds her of the games she plays on Study Island except "more fun".

Any app that can get my child to study math, willingly, for almost an hour has my vote! I played it a little as well and found this is not just for young kids. The levels start with basic addition and go on to include subtraction, multiplication and division, plus the times tables. You can set it on any of four levels of difficulty from beginner to expert. It keeps track of scores so you can see your child's (or your own) progress.

Great for homeschoolers or anyone who wants to keep their math skills sharp.
